Installed another set of mini v's and a new old derailleur. Have a big ride on Saturday so I my endless fiddling survives the day.
It had a tiagra derailleur with medium cage on before, but that never shifted properly. Now it has a rd-m550, deore lx which looks to be working better. Someday I'll take better photo's.

Looking for a front rack to go on my Dawes drop bar graveler thing. Has to go underneath an AGU venture bar bag. Uses will be for bikepacking mostly. Last year I offered up my (half) frame bag to use for tent storage which lead to small bits and piece going from the frame bag to every other bag available. Call it bad packing strategies. So the rack will house a 2kg tent, maybe a drybag with sleeping stuff or clothes, groceries or anything else nobody mentions on a packlist but still brings along last minute.
Was thinking pizzarack, blackburn bootlegger, pelago commuter, they all seem like forum favourites but I can't choose.

Giving these cheapo mini v's a chance on the Dawes crossy bike. Pain to adjust but felt better than the cheapo canti's I had. Have to fiddle with the pads more because they squeak like hell.
Also trying a different saddle because the cutout in my fizik one is the size of two grand canyons and that does not feel nice.

Made time to sort out the derailleur situation of the dawes cross thing. Looks to be shifting fine again so I now have a bike for proper riding again. Only 4-ish things to finish?
I wanted to go 105 5500 group on the peugeot but I'm not going to pay €40 for a stupid octalink v1 bb. DHL surprised me with a 36t narrow wide and hollowtech bb from ali. So now I can put bulky deore lx cranks on the peugeot with a 9 speed deore xt derailleur. 1x9 it is!
Things needed for peugeot:
- Wheels
- Cassette/chain/chainring
- bartape
- better brakes
- Wheels

Stem and headset took less time than expected, but still crusty. I think this will be a 2x9 drop bar thing: sunrace/shimano bar end shifters, tektro levers and v-brakes, shimano 105 derailleurs and octalink crankset. Most of the stuff is already here.
To do:
- New wheels
- Headset refresh
- Find octalink bb
- Shorter stem
- New wheels

CX thing for a mate coming along nice. Photo and bartape courtesy of said mate.
I wanted to finish the Mudy Fox mtb version this weekend but the rear wheel did not survive recent shit weather. Seems like the freehub is sticky/toast and as it is a dt swiss 240 I do not have the tools for it. Might have to bring it away or find something else 9 speed worthy...

Does it do the 11-40 good enough or would you recommend using a hanger extension?
