Looking to try a short, open and flat saddle (bit like the Pro Stealth or the Selle Italia Novust Boost Evo) - I have a San Marco Shortfit Wide which I like but feel like the waved profile is not suiting me as well as it might if it were a little flatter. Not looking to invest in a fancy carbon railed number for now.
Also looking for a cheap but hopefully not super heavy pair of clip on aero bars - these wouldn't be used to TTing but mostly for comfort/different position on longer rides, so spacers might be a great bonus!

Just to riff off of Albb's comment, I'd recommend flying your own bike over. You could either invest in a bike bag (especially if you have storage for it once returned home) or just ask for boxes at your LBS (or consult the thread here on the forum), it would work out cheaper either way and if you have a nice bike you'll get to enjoy it on some truly lovely roads.
Also agreed on air quality - I am from Emilia myself and down in the plain air can be pretty bad, Alps to the north and Apennine to the south means you're in a bit of a hole and air can stagnate quite a lot. This does however improve significantly once you get a little elevation up the hills which are just at your doorstep in Bologna.
If you want any more info about the region do feel free to DM me - I'm from the western end of Emilia but know the region as a whole and city of Bologna quite well. The Alps seem to get all the glory when it comes to riding it Italy, but the Appennines are an absolute gem ๐
PS: it's 'Bicicletta per me' ๐

Finally got some scales, 85.5kg for my 190cm.
Aiming for around 80 in March but would love to see a 7 at the beginning of my weight, even at 79.9. I have been down to 77/78 in the past though I wasnโt cycling as much and I have definitely got more muscles in my legs now so not sure how easily attainable that could be now so keeping an open mind.
I know my downfall is unhealthy snacking and treats, so will try and make sure none are in the house or office in the coming weeks and will look for filling replacements where needed.
Lower intensity morning rides on an empty stomach are something I used to do daily pre-covid in the form of my commute and definitely helped - the moment I switched to breakfast at work and not at home I started seeing a difference, so will try and get back on those regularly whether I am commuting or WFH.

Definitely want to shed some timber this year, though not owning scales makes it feel a bit approximative...! Might need to invest in some...
Iโm probably around 85kg at the moment and 190cm/6โ3โ, so not overweight but definitely have a fair bit of waist thatโs โup for grabsโ...
Have been 77 in the past and would like to get close to that, though I now definitely have more leg muscles due to more cycling and that might add some healthy weight.
On the topic of scales, are ones that calculate body fat etc any good or is it a completely approximative calculation of no great use?

Amazing effort not just to catch up and keep well on track, but to manage the issues that inevitably arisen! ๐
Also good luck with GB duro, must be exciting to look for ways to use the fitness and endurance you have built up in different ways once the inherent limitations in terms of training/recovery of the challenge will be gone!
Sent a DM re the last ride!

Do you have a Mac? The GarageBand amp sims should be very decent if they're anything like the Logic ones, so you'd only need a pretty simple interface to plug into (they can be really cheap these days!) and you're away. Also quite nice if you plan to play along anything as what you hear then is de facto mixed with the track!

Been asked by multiple people what I may want for christmas. I'm using the stock basket on my Gaggia Classic but heard people argue going IMS competizione or VST makes a whole lot of different, or using distribution tools, upgraded shower screen etc
Basically, any gadget worth asking Santa for or should not believe the hype? ๐ค

Couldn't be happier! It also seems to have tons more dynamic range than the E1, which is the one thing I had struggled with especially having used film exclusively for years before that.
@Tijmen not my plants alas, but outside a local plant shop! Made me want to buy one thought, very beautiful plants

Recently done a bit if investing in my gear to start expanding on video work and upgraded my Fuji X-E1 to an X-T3. While I really enjoyed the colour and format of the E1 Iโm absolutely delighted with the T3 as it improves on all fronts and the colours are ๐
Havenโt taken it out properly but thought Iโd share a couple quick shots Iโve taken so farโฆ

Mikel was accused of giving away the ball for Juve's equaliser at the end of the game, ended 2-2 after we had led 2-0.
Fingers crossed neither Chilwell nor Kante have picked up bad injuries. Part of me wouldn't mind if they got a little bit of a rest as it might work out in the long run, we seem to be good at rotating and players coming in look red hot to prove a point, hopefully there is a silver lining in the long term for the season?!
-
Ah what a goal that was! Had the pleasure of being there in disbelief at how it cam out of nowhere. I was also in disbelief at how we managed not to win that game and how humanity constantly makes it known it is made up of so many arseholes in the ensuing anti-Mikel backlash.
Gutted not to have been there last night (apart from the cold!), what a game that was!

Bit late to this, but really nice pedalboard and black russian BMPs are sooo good ๐
How are you finding the Donner PSU? I don't believe they have isolated outputs but is it reasonably quiet? Been looking at those myself.
I'm looking to get back into building myself the odd pedal and creating a small queue of Fuzz Faces (Ge, Si, Axis...) and a (possibly transofrmer-less) Hudson Boradcast clone. Now need time and the odd component and I can finally crack on!

Walked past it about an hour ago on my way to buying lunch* - looks... meaty. Did it used to be something else? Can't say I noticed it before despite walking past there many times. The strap line "Theatre of meat" was a bit odd. No idea about the food admittedly.
*Since it's a food recommendation thread, went for the dependable Jerusalem falafel on Berwick st market - quality bit of falafel wrap and one of the best value meals you'll find in the area along with the Thai stall at the top of Rupert st, just south of Walkers ct. Closed at the moment but they always seem to head back home to Thailand from December to the end of Jan/mid Feb. Can't wait for them to be back!
