Agree with @RonAsheton, never liked that whole series from Fender, including and especially the Blues Junior - why that amp is so popular will forever remain a mystery to me.
Hot Rods also have a tendency of eventually burning off the PCB, which isn't exactly repairable. What amps do you currently have and what are you looking for? Partly to recommend something, mostly to live vicariously through your got-money-to-spend on gear POV.

You do want the bridge pickup to be hotter as the strings' vibration is far more pronounced over the neck pickup than the bridge, ie towards the middle of the string. So if you were to install a pair of pickup with the same output, the bridge would be noticeably quieter.
The ohm reading doesn't in itself speak of a higher output pickup but in effect usually does, as more turns=higher resistance (for example) and more turns also appen to produce a higher output pickup.

Speaking of espresso grinders, I'm looking to go electric after a few years of using the still excellent 1Zpresso JX Pro as there's more choices in the marker than there were 4 years ago...
Does anyone have any experience with the Baratza ESP or the Turin SK40? Any good source in UK for the latter? Or should I save/hang on for a used Eureka Mignon of sorts?
I'm only interested in espresso and would want a single dose capable option. The Fellow doesn't look great to me in terms of dialling, hence its exclusion, but interested to hear any experience with the above or suggestions for anything else I should be looking at?

Yep, very much this. My guitar playing is a bit of a three headed monster, the Marshall on 11 rock'n'roll shredder, the sensitive power pop arpeggio guy and the noisy art rocker. It's a bit of a split personality. 😵💫
Very much feel this. Started playing listening to It's Alive at 13, then learned solos from AC/DC, blues and GnR, then finally discovered Yo La Tengo, Mogwai and MBV.
Even the stuff I haven't listened to in years is still there somewhere and I actually quite like that!

The Holdovers
sweet and funny. Paul Giammatti is just so watchable, it's not even like acting.
One of the best films I've seen in a while! Acting is incredible from all main characters as you say, not even like acting. Certainly deserved the BAFTAs that came their ways.
Also went to see Perfect Days last week and cand say the same about it - perhaps not one for the lovers of fast paced cinema though

Cheap and cheerful but rechargeable and do the job well, seems reliable and accurate (my grinder and cup tare is always recorded as the same).
Only annoying thing is, it won't tell you the battery is running low until it can't stay on anymore, so I just pop it on charge around once a month (it lasts longer to be fair) and forget about it.

So I always fancied a 23mm for my Fuji X-T3 but never wanted to spend the £250/300 that even the 23/2 costs used. I have however just realised that my X-E1 which has been lying in a drawer for quite some time is now seen as desirable and goes at pretty good prices, which would cover the lens expense.
Is this the right time to part ways with the X-E1?

@l_fignon completely agree with @lemonade here, SUVs are god awful cars, externally massive but with surprisingly little space inside. Fuel consumption levels and emissions are real bad, too, on average, worse than other "big" cars like a 7 seater, which would actually have tons of space. Was never keen on SUVs, but as I started my own search for a more spacious car I had a look at them as they are everywhere and ended up even more puzzled as per why people keep buying them. Or maybe not, Freud had that one sussed out over 100 years ago. Estate or MPV are the way to go for space.
@Greenbank Kia Soul is another cheaper electric model and has good interior space and boot. Less popular than the Zoe but if you find one you can get quite a bit more car for your money. Again, range is pretty bad, but not dissimilar to the Zoe; if you're used to having to pick up Zipcars etc I can see how the regular on-street charging palava wouldn't necessarily be any worse.

Alas mine is getting a little tired, would love to avoid the pain of getting a new car but it's started needing little bits here and here at MOTs and outside of MOTs, too. I like the idea of a car I could trust to take on holidays into Europe and the trusty Focus has given hints of wanting to check out of that category...!
@sacredhart did see that actually but won't be for a while that I'll be pulling the trigger. Definitely noted though!
Also really appreciate the haggle/warranty suggestions - it seems to me that if I do end up going with a dealership I'd definitely want a degree of protection as that has to be one of the selling points, especially against a degree of price hike vs buying from a private seller

The corner looks great! Another modular solution for storing stuff are those boltless garage-style shelving units as you can adjust the height of each shelf and they'll hold a lot of weight. I have two of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09WNLKCZ8/ref=pe_27063361_487055811_TE_3p_dp_1?th=1
Quite messy at the moment as I’m forever reshuffling things, ultimately will clear the shelf which currently has boxes of pedals as I’m planning to have two small heads I should be building at some point in 2024…

I'd seen Car Giant as one of the big places to go in London and will keep my eye on them, as well as Big Motoring World - as you say, a tried and tested place might cost a little more than a private but make life easier so I'd be open to that.
Is haggling with prices a thing for second hand cars? The internet seems to think so, as it says it's the case with brand new ones, which I wasn't aware of.

Zafiras have a tendency to spontaneously combust.
Not the Tourers, only a handful of pre-refresh models had that potential thankfully.
S Max look nice but are ~50% more expensive than the models mentioned, ie too expensive.
Zafiras aren't glamorous cars and I'm sure not "fun" to drive (whatever that means, not my bag that I guess!) but they are packed with good features, have great safety ratings and have proven very reliable, all at an honest price, basically ticking all my boxes - any particular reason why some people seem to hate them or is it more of a case of "it's a boring family car, bah"?
-
With a little one on the way I'm starting to look into upgrading the '03 Focus I've had for a fair few years to something larger (chucking a bike in the boot easily a bonus) and more reliable - Vauxhall Zafira Tourers seem to strike a great balance of cost/features/space vs dimensions/safety etc, followed by Citroen C4s and non 1.2 PureTech 3008s.
Usual question probably, but how's people's view on Autotrader/Dealerships/Private sellers and/or best places to look at? The much-advertised Cinch and Cazoo seem very expensive compare to anything else.
Only bought one car before (the aforementioned Focus) and that was from a good friend, so it's a wholly new world to explore for me and feels like a bit of a minefield...!
@Pantsmaster another Classic + hand grinder (JX Pro) user here, great combination.
Having said that, my DF54 is shipping this week and looking forward to the ease of electric especially now we are brewing from different beans at home. It’s currently available without waiting list and could actually make a great compact solution to grinding for espresso and any other brewing method
