Hmmm not sure, there's only the loops at the front as pictured. I used Tailfin cages and 2 Voile straps and there was zero movement.

Also have Alpkit Betonga 3L fork bags, one strap missing but I used Voile straps instead and would recommend.

The most worrying thing is still the midges. I've slept in bus stops before and it was horrible enough without them. A good midge net packs up small.

Was going great guns then went to America for 2 weeks sans bike so trying to get back into the swing. Should be grand. Just a very long ride innit. Hoping for no knee issues.

I bought a couple used DT carbon wheels wheels for the road road bike that came with tyres and proper inserts in them, but....are they for rim protection or some sort of, 'getyahome' ability in the event of no sealing. Maybe a bit of both. I can of course google this.

I know they take a wheel while coming from China. Don't even know exactly when this happened...I would assume pot hole.

Do we think any sort of insert would prevent this sort of thing happen? I know on fat MTB tyres theyre nigh on essential for my ample clumsy arse but on road tyres...?

The little lolly pop out and back bit to the west of that route is amazing so don't miss that if you're up there.

This is a ride up there, I know you aren't riding but this route can be driven, highly recommended. Lochinver has a famous pie shop for eating.

I don't have a dog but you should be in complete control as I am sure you are aware. Even where I live in the central belt dogs have been shot by farmers for chasing sheep.

On Skye, the obvious points are the Quiraing for a hike, Kilt Rock, Faerie Glen for a walk around, The Black and Red Cuilins for a mad hike at this time of year. Sligachan Bridge for the famous view of the Cuilins. Can't go wrong on Skye really. Don't know what Portree is like in the winter but it's a beautiful wee town/village. En route to Skye if you're going via the Kyle of Lochalsh bridgr is Eilean Donan Castle which you'll have no doubt seen in photos.

This bit is unreal for wilderness, coast, weird geological shapes.

Ullapool the town....this time of year....ghost town but for the dramatic scenery yer laughin'

Skye is the obvious choice if you haven't been before.
