Without meaning to preach, that’s precisely the reaction they want to provoke. Energy spent on one thing (e.g., vexation) can’t be spent on something else (organising clear plans in opposition). Plus it riles up the idiots in their base, and filters out opposition who can’t stand the hypocrisy.

On most jackets produced these days you physically can’t use them all. On high quality jackets you can unbutton and roll up the sleeves, whereas on mass produced jackets the sleeve is sewn permanently shut.

If it didn’t run the risk of destabilising critical industries, and didn’t break international law, I’d vote we use tax money to fulfill the aspiration of folks like those above and fly them direct to Russia, on the condition that they renounce their western nationalities/citizenships first.

There is a chance that the justices will turn their back on trump, given that they’re set for life and trump is a liability. Plus, his self-admitted dictatorship doesn’t sound compatible with an independent, empowered judiciary.
Maga would undoubtedly take it as a betrayal, with every crazy possibility that would entail, so it would take a lot for them to break rank on this issue .

I know it’s a parody but the guy is doing impressively well for himself.
Daily exercise, good sleep, positive inner dialogue, steady income and acceptable work-life balance, self-educating, putting himself out there socially… Add in a career change to something that aligns better with his interests, and dude could be absolutely slaying in a year.

The bigger question is, if or when Ukraine ans Russia reach an agreement that ends or freezes the conflict, how soon will the world welcome Putin back into the fold?
In an ideal world, the answer would be never. In this world, Russia’s economy and the resources Putin can grant access to are too alluring for some to let a thing like morality stand in the way.

Getting new phones for my team, can’t quite figure out why an iPhone 15 pro max would be preferable to the 12 or 13 pro max for most phone users. Especially ever more advanced camera capabilities on mobile phones: why? Is it simply to offer the latest and greatest, or do most phone users actually know what it all means, and care?
Are Gen Z and Gen alpha natively communicating in semi-professional short video format instead of written or audio messages like their elders, making advanced camera features literal child’s play?

Unsure about the Canadian situation, but at least in London part of the solution would involve cracking down on housing scalper corporations (looking at you, The Arch Company, y’all suck) who sit on empty property for years.
It’s bad enough when it’s 1/3 of a highstreet or 1/2 of an urban industrial estate being kept empty with outlandish rent demands, but when it’s tens of thousands of domestic properties kept purposely empty for years, despite overwhelming market demand, that shit has broader consequences for society and the economy than “just” a homeless family or a slightly-less-profitable private investment venture.

Police are offering £20,000 reward for info leading to arrest of alkali attacker. Last sighted at Tower Hill underground station, and police are concerned someone might be harbouring him. Raids in Newcastle turned up empty caustic soda container(s), so it’s pretty clear the attack was premeditated. Witnesses described how he assaulted the kids and it’s simply horrific.
If he’s gone swimming, I for one won’t shed a tear.

Me: The only things now that can stop trump from being reelected are a criminal conviction that disqualifies him from running or holding office, or key allies turning on him. A lot of powerful people have invested a lot of resources into backing trump, so it’s increasingly unlikely that the latter will happen.
In Scenario A, the repub/Maga plants on the SCOTUS turn on their masters, and their ruling disqualifies him. MAGA brains will explode and there might be localised unrest, but the non-Maga Repubs will voraciously jump on the opportunity to pull the party in their direction. Dems would likely win the POTUS.
Scenario B, the maga justices do what they were put there to do, and they protect trump. Trump wins the vote, Dems are out.
Scenario C, trump’s allowed to run, Biden wins despite Maga’s best efforts, the SCOTUS takes the case and decides yet again who will be the next president.
Scenario D, trump loses to Biden, SCOTUS doesn’t get involved, the House of Reps becomes the final battleground. The diehard Maga speaker of the house alleges electoral irregularities and refuses to allow the various necessary proceedings to certify a Biden win, Dems can’t overcome, and the Maga-heavy House gets the final vote on who’s the next POTUS for the 2nd time in US history.
Scenario E, somehow all of trump’s hidden aces fail to secure Maga the presidency. Anything could happen at this point.
