A mate bought some new gen ≈£2500 carbon road wheels with ceramic bearings from a well known manufacturer, and after a 200km ride in the wet the hubs are grindy as hell. Previous wheels with DT Swiss hubs underwent similar treatment repeatedly, and didn’t have bearing issues for years.
I know it’s impossible to say without knowing the exact conditions, but would you reasonable folks consider it unlucky chance, a potential warranty issue, or expected wear and tear? I’d normally think it comes with the territory of riding in wet weather, but given the price point and better experience with previous wheels, I’d have also assumed these wheels would survive a ride without needing servicing or potentially repair. I realise a counterargument could be made that they’re performance wheels and should be serviced after an extended ride, but they evidently didn’t ‘perform’ for the length of the ride.

Lubricating the cage meaning flushing the pivot where the cage meets the derailleur body? That’s usually where the problem lies.
Wd40 sprayed into the joint, then manually pivoting the derailleur cage to and fro; repeat two or three times if needed. If the cage feels easy to move and you don’t get resistance from it, then it might be shot. Might be rebuildable given it’s Campag.

Asking for a mother-to-be: what’s the least expensive, good quality motor assist fitable on a Dutch style cargo bike, for urban commuting and shopping ? I’m putting in highly discounted labour because of additional context, but have limited e-bike expertise.
Preliminary research suggests Bafang mid motor and rear rack battery for £400, assuming it doesn’t need the throttle and can be limited to 25km/h somehow. Is that reasonable or buying problems down the line with the motor etc?

Perhaps not tool porn worthy but I’m loving the BBB chain tool. Super smooth threads, adjustable anchor, comes with a spare push pin and a cleverly integrated star wrench in the handle to remove and install them. Cheaper than park and feels like it’s made to last.
9.5/10 personally because the handle isn’t as comfortable in my hand.

8/10 propaganda video. Points deducted for contextually silly, if hopeful, guitar strumming, and for poor messaging choice on “(and) for what?”, which is additionally used when something fails miserably.
Would’ve deducted points for their chosen hashtag, also referencing an abysmal failure; and not building up a war-like sentiment with the video.

The garrison commander at Ft. Bragg must be wondering how to save his career. He has a solid CV, nothing amazingly outstanding, could’ve made it to one star but not with an international scandal like this on his resumé.
