is there any reason a quill stem adapter (like this ) won't work with 1" threadless forks that are too short? Making it work sort of like a steerer extender.

UK customs working well.
From Portugal, I shipped a 10€ battery charger, tiny ~2kg box to a customer in the UK. The same day I shipped a complete bike, huge 25kg box, to a customer in Germany. DHL fucked up and switched the labels. Charger ended up in Germany and the bike in the UK. Amazingly, even though the invoice and customs papers clearly indicated that the item was supposed to be a tiny box with a cheap charger inside, the bike cleared customs without issues...wtf

An executive for a big client of the company I work for (its biggest client by far) saw me commuting by bike this morning and, without ever having talked to me before, went on a pretty arrogant tirade about millenials, climate change being "not that big of a problem" and how if I really wanted to help the environment I would take a cab to work (???????) helping the economy at the same time. I really have no idea how I managed to keep my cool, I think just the absurdity of the situation made me so dumbfounded I just didn't know what to say. The twist is this guy works in bicycle production...my blood has been boiling since this happened, what a fucking asshole holy shit. Thankfully I didn't say anything back because he definitely seems like the kind of guy that would try to get me fired if I did. I never even met the guy before.

Halo 1 is my favourite game of all time, so so good. So many hours spent playing that and then Halo 2, both campaign and split screen with my brother with that huge Duke controller on Xbox. Halo 3 came out when I was less interested in videogames but I still bought it and played the campaign at the time and loved it too.
I recently got the MCC collection for nostalgia reasons and played it all again up to Halo 3 but still yet to try Halo 4 and the ODST one.
I hope you're playing with the old graphics option though (at least Halo 1), the new ones completely change the experience. They look great but the ambience is completely gone from the original.
EDIT: Oh just realized you're talking about the new one!

My neighbours going to bed at 2 in the morning and getting up at 5 and behaving as if everyone in the building has the same schedule, shouting all over the house, banging doors and cupboards, etc.
In fact, the longer I live in apartment buildings the more I realize most people are actually on 4h sleep schedules.

I'm hoping this new variant will be what turns this into a normal seasonal thing rather than what closes down everything again. It seems it's more transmissible but reports from SA saying symptoms are rare and mild (and gone after a couple of days) are actually encouraging imo. If a less severe variant can outdo all the others and become dominant it's a really positive thing. Fingers crossed

A bit late but I've had 2 old steel bikes that had this problem after removing the original headset cups (flared headtube after removing). Not really sure why but they were both bikes that were not cared for and sitting in a garage for 20 years+
See if the original cups fit or if they're too loose now too. If the head tube is really flared you can use a shim on the new cups, that's what I did and never had any problems. -

Maybe I'm confusing things then, mine are spring clip ones, are those reusable? I was always under the impression they weren't meant to be reused although I've been doing it for years and never had a problem...It's just that now that I've started waxing my chains, I have to break the chain much more often (every week) and I didn't trust it enough for this.

Interesting, thank you for all the input, I think I'll order one of those and give it a try.
