I ran 2.3" Ehlines on my MS for a while, but they rubbed on the chain stays fairly badly, particularly with any riding out of the saddle. I'd say 2.1 is really the widest you could comfortably go if you want to do any off road riding.
Guess it would depend on the profile, but the Ehlines were too wide. Had them on Hunt Trail wide rims.

Not sure if this the sort of thing? https://eu.velocio.cc/products/mens-trail-base-layer?utm_source=us_site&utm_medium=referral
Bit steep at £57 though.

Clearly been some interest in this, so:
As mentioned, it's a 56cm frame, in the dark grey.
I'm running it 650b with silver tubeless setup rims. Dynamo front hub and standard rear hub. Brand new set up Teravail Ramparts in 650b X 47 black durables. Literally ridden twice since replacing them.
It's got a pelago front rack on it.
Dynamo lights - Supernova E3 Pure 3 front light in silver and matching E3 dynamo rear seat post light.
I've got it set up 1x9 with a 42t front fog, TA Specialites cranks and an 11-40 rear cassette.
Shifters are Shimano Tiagra, but only the right one is set up for shifting obviously.
Bars are Nitto M137SSB. Pretty sure they're 46cm wide.
Brooks B17 saddle and matching black microfibre bar tape.
I'm thinking about £1040 all in. How does that sound? Let me know if I'm way off the mark.
Pics a couple of posts down.

I wasn't 100% sold on selling this as I have just finished building it up and servicing it, but I bought it from @crow before I knew I was going to replace my beloved Midnight Special.
I'd rather build that up as a disc commuter instead. Partly because I basically can't be without a project, but also because, well, disc, and I don't have room in the shed for both.

New Roam out: https://uk.wahoofitness.com/devices/bike-computers/elemnt-roam-buy
£350. Basically the same physically, but with a 64 bit screen, USB-C charger.
Some new software features coming, but all to do with training and metrics so not really of interest to me.

Heads up for anyone planning to do the Downs Link - there's a section of works on it between the A264 and Fuflord's Road near Itchingfield. It was fenced off, but the barrier at the north end of the section had been pulled down. Lots of hardcore on the route. It was rideable, wasn't pleasant, but can be done.

First outing a resounding success.
No major niggles or rattles. Think I night need to swap the seat post for an inline one and the rotors squeal a fair bit, so reckon I'll change them fairly soon.
Did a reverse version of the Hell of the North VII route, which on a sunny September day is much more 'The Really Quite Nice of the North', other than the absolute scumbags who fly tip willy nilly off the A1 down various nice lanes. Reported to local councils, but it does make me sad.
Anyway, lovely ride. Bike is brilliant. Tyres roll delightfully on and off road and all round many smiles.

Price drop to £1040 and just confirming that I really don't want to split this up. I need to free up some space!
