According to the questions/answers on the website, it won't allow for the installation of a SS freewheel..

But why?
I (wrongly) assumed that I'd just be able to screw one on :(

Had this for commuting to work, steel frame and I think it’s a goku, but not sure (goku logo on the stem) but previous owner rattle can’d everything black. It’s a medium to large frame and it works. Front and rear brakes have both hand new cables and outers in the last 2 months too

It’s used, scratched but functional !

Wheels are deep, with good tyres rear has a puncture. Single speed or fixed

Looking for a Dolan FXE or Pre-Cursa (capable of front and rear brakes)

I'm 5"9 so think I need a 52. Dont mind if its frame only or a full bike, but I dont need anything immaculate as its only going to be used as a daily commuter so will get pretty beat up.

Ideally Midlands based, but happy for someone to post.

Currently have a steel goku ss which weighs a ton and I’m looking to replace it with something lighter.

My commute is either 2 miles to the station or 7 miles into work with 500ft of climbing.

I don’t need mounts for bottles or pannier racks but would need a rear brake

Don’t want to spend a fortune as some days it’ll be locked at the secure station parking hut thing so I’ve been looking at track style aluminium frames and have come up with the following

Dolan pre Cursa (drilled to take a rear brake) can get a used frame for £120 and I’ve got some bits to make up the rest

Dolan FXE obviously is more meant for what I’m after but would be around £300

Specialized langster think around £200 but not sure

Thoughts ??

Any other decent options out there ??

I have a Merida cyclocross 4 from around 2014/15 that I want to convert to single speed.

It has cable disc brakes that are rubbish and need sorting out, but the frames good enough

Currently runs 10 speed 105 and a 36/42 upfront. The plan would be to change it to a single speed for commuting (not CX racing)

What do I need in terms of parts?

Single speed chain ring and single speed chain bolts

Single speed free hub with spacers.

1/8” chain ?
Chain tensioner ?

Any help with good stuff to get for this on a budget would be great

When you say the cranks are cross threaded you mean pedals won’t screw in or they’re cross threaded on the BB?
