Cool.
Not a claim to fame at all but more a knowledge share from me:
Jimmy Lerner who wrote the brutal "You Got Nothing Coming: Notes from a Prison Fish" about his lifetime career at Bell Telephones followed by a stretch for murder used to sit in his open plan office cubicle diagonally opposite a guy who was always making sketches/drawing cartoons.
That guy was Scott Adams of Dilbert fame.

I'm fairly new to singlespeed and I'm not up on all the fashions that you young kidz get involved in but I saw a guy on the commute in Tooting yesterday on a SS sporting reversed drop bars similar to this https://images.app.goo.gl/AgU9sUtWxRYbyvE8A
Is that a thing nowadays? I was astounded and commented as such cos I haven't seen anyone riding with bars like that since I was a schoolboy in the 70's (which also shows how old I am).

@Squaredisk has already linked to a similar thread I started up there.
In terms of how did I know the standard Shimano freewheel was on its last legs I could feel the graunchiness through the pedals, a distinct notchiness in the freewheel which transferred via the chain and could be felt in the pedaling motion. There wasn't any lack of pick up, just the notchy feeling.
I settled on the Halo Clickster purely through the recommendation on that thread. A reasonable price point and a slight upgrade. Once I sourced the correct tool (Park Tools FR-6) it was a five minute job to replace and instantly the notchiness disappeared confirming a correct diagnosis.
I like the freewheel buzz when I'm coasting, it's not super-loud but even with London traffic on Cycle Superhighway 7 it's noticeable (you can hear it in some sections of the short IGTV commuting vid I posted https://www.instagram.com/tv/B8cQQn3BSRO/?igshid=17fquctlrbi0z)

Here's another edit of my commuting footage.
The video was meant to juxtapose summer versus winter riding along Cycle Superhighway 7 but I'm not sure that comes across very well, more just a mish-mash of riding clips.
Also GoPro studio kept on crashing and so the ending wasn't as planned and I had to cut it short.
Still, I had fun making the video and it's always an experience riding those roads
Okay so the Langster is alu not steel but I was a big Numan fan back in the 80's so it's a great chance to use this track.
