I would listen to whatever Colin says first as he does this shit for a living but in my more limited experience...
I would never use wooden fence posts. They rot very quickly. Yes you can treat and protect them but even if they last 15 years that comes around much faster than you think.
You then have the joy of digging out not only the remains of the fence post but the postcrete/concrete that was around the base (I had to do this in my garden).
Far more effective is to go for concrete fence posts that will last for a lifetime and not have to be redone.

Took me a while 0n Sunday to realise why my rear mech wasn't shifting correctly until I spotted that the issue was literally under my nose.
Never had this happen before in 25 years of riding. Fortunately my eldest boy was carrying some zip ties and we bodged this fix which got me through the next 3 hours riding until the cable outer split further and we ran out of zip ties. Fortunately I was at the top of the hill so rode back to the car parked at the bottom.

I rode QECP today, just off the A3 in the middle of the south downs.
It was my first visit and I was impressed. A great network of graded trails (blues and reds) with a load of natural trails too.
Chalk based so probably like ice in the winter but from a chilly 3 degrees at 9am it soon warmed up in the sun and we were riding in short sleeves come lunchtime.
Here's my eldest boy on his 30th birthday and his best mate hitting the kicker at the bottom of the final red trail back into the car park

hehe, yeah sorry for the annoying electropop.
I normally like to tie my vids together with a decent copyrighted tune but then of course I can't upload it to youtube so its a bit pointless.
