Aborting this project sadly. I'll admit I was quite pished at the time and so a bit of a reckless purchase that maybe I shouldn't have gone through with. So I'm prepared to make a loss on what I've spent on it so far. It's an Orange P7 from '94 in great nick. It's been resprayed black at some point and has no decals (easily sourced from Gil). Nice light handmade British thing, came with XT back in the day so that reflects the standard.
It's an Orange medium size, 17" CTT. Would suit 5'6 - 5'9. I'm 5'9 and would ride this, but I am a bmx rider at heart so maybe I like bikes on the smaller side.
Forks are not original but they are nice spinner ones (a little rusty in places)
Shimano STX headset with sealed bearings.
New shim for 27.2 seat postCollected in Hackney E8 or can post at your expense (I have a box).
£100 firm (don't really want to lose any more on it, guess I will keep for a rainy day otherwise)

I'm away so will get pictures when I'm back next week, but it's this model in the yellow and green colourway:
https://alpkit.com/products/phudBought at the beginning of lockdown and I've used it exactly once. It might be a little dusty from that use + storage for 18 months. It's just taking valuable space I'd rather have for bikes.
50% off retail, so £50, collected in hackney seem fair?

I’ve really gone round the houses with forks. The pace ones are a little too long and the bike does feel a bit weird. I originally swapped out the threaded spinner ones because I fancied having an ahead set up instead. Then I tried some shorter cannondale headshox forks which are closer to the right a2c length but erring on the short side I think. I had to lose the Chris king hs for the lower stack cane creek to eek out a bit more steerer length (already needed that low stack bmx stem with 190mm steerer on the pace forks - the headshox have 186mm).
I think the pace or original spinner ones (below) probably look the best, but keen to hear your thoughts 🙂

@Pipyepip might be buying this but I haven't heard this week, so if not I've got this medium 1994 Orange P7. Nice light British handmade frame, could use some decals to bring it back to life, unless you like the stealthy look ;)
Nice work! Glad to see some new life in it. Sorry to hear about the front wheel, let me know if there’s anything I can do.
Not into the thumb shifter? Have you tried it on friction? It’ll do 8speed indexed ok and 9 with friction... nice choice of derailleur too :)
