This bike is a piece of cycling folklore hailing from Greece. with enough history to warrant its own Amazon Prime docu series.
The fabled Hellas track bike is native to the Aegean and was either made by Benotto or Montagner in the late 80s or early 90s. The jury is still out for who can take credit for this frame - but it was definitely an Italian! It was raced in the Mediterranean Games in 1991 by the Greek track team and subsequently the frames were scattered around various cycling clubs in Greece.
There's a great deal of mystery and folklore around these frames, but there's only a few of them around these days, so I've been lucky to call myself the owner of one.
From the streets of Athens where @morethanlife was tearing it around tight lanes and alleyways, to London, this bike is up for any task.
This one is a 55.5 cm top tube cc and 55cm seat tube cc with Reynolds 351 tubing. There's a dink in the top tube when I bought it, which I've detailed in pics on the G-drive.
Please see link for more pics - including how @morethanlife used to ride it in sunny Greece.

Ooooft thanks for all the strong recommendations guys, really appreciate it off the back of the blunder that was this post! I'm after cheap and cheerful, fully accepting that that isn't always possible though. I'm gonna have a flick through the reccos so far - hopefully this thread will help someone equally as hopeless as me using the search function in the future.

Hello hello!
Just throwing feelers out there if there's any interest in swapping this Pete Matthews Pianni wheelset for something equivocal - maybe something along the lines of H+Son Formation Face? Preferably swapping with tyres and all.
Any takers?
