Snap snap - got them done though, 60 were done in sets of 10 with some heavy breathing, mild fear & sweats in between each, actually got into it after that & finished with 2x20 followed by some light headedness and a dry mouth & telling myself not to drink too much even if it is "the weekend"
@Wrongcog I don't normally do a lot of strength training, certainly not on consecutive days but it's not too bad so far, can definitely feel it but it's not prohibitively bad - this may come back to bite me in a few days time...

That's a good shift - i'm hoping to progress to 5 x 20 with a minute or so inbetween then see how it goes from there... maybe start flinging in some crossfit bro backflips & shiz once i'm proper smashing it up the moon's arse, lol
@plantasia if you keep your form good & don't just crumple to the ground you should be fine - I don't do the jumping bit though, that might shake a few ornaments

Decided to give the 100 burpees a day thing a go - thought about press-ups initially but then saw something about burpees & remembered how much I hate them so they must be good for me right? Added in the press-up & removed the jump as my knees are made of shit & do not like being bounced up and down plus I quite like press ups.
10 sets of 10 with a minute or so in between - was struggling at 30 but then started getting into it a bit more, wasn't properly warmed up so that explains that. At least 10 of the press ups were done with a 3 year old sitting on my back for an extra challenge - not my choice - didn't feel too bad but tomorrow morning might be a different story when I try to do another 100...
The chicken coop is finished so i'll start doing Rocky-esque chicken harassing round the garden when I get a couple off the neighbour to mix up the cardio, been out on the bike a couple of times in the last 2 weeks for about 20 miles at a time - it's pretty rural where we are so there's more bikes on the roads than cars at the minute, everyone seem to be going solo which is good to see.

One of my mates breeds show chickens - he has an allotment & used to grow all sorts of stuff, he had a brief fling with giant veg (stop it) & would drive his prize winning marrows all over the country - now his quaint allotment looks like a small scale chicken farm & he sinks pretty much all his spare time & most of his cash into the things, slippery slope indeed!

My chicken coop came together quite well - might install a mezzanine level at some point but it's pretty much good to go, probably the first thing I've built from wood since secondary school over 20 years ago, really quite enjoyed it - also doubles as a toddler containment system
Can't upload photo for some reason, but it's awesome

In the garden the other day making it slightly less "derelique" got talking to the guy next door over the fence & my daughter (3) runs over asking if she can pat his chickens - he says she can have a couple of them if her dad gets her a hut to keep them in...
So, after raking the loft for bits of timber & old off-cuts of floorboards I reckon there's enough to make a passable A-frame chicken coop - need to get cracking this weekend before she forgets about it & my wife puts the kibosh on the idea, chooks ahoy!

I picked up a couple of pairs of the Uniqlo selvedge stretch ones last time they were doing them for £15 & they're great for the price, even for £35 or whatever they are now - only ever worn them for cycling to the station or whatever (20 mins tops) but they've held up pretty well, just got the crotch reinforced as they were starting to fray a bit & they look like new again

PNW make some pretty nice bits - is that the suspension dropper? I always wondered why droppers didn't have the option of an inch or two of squish since most of the internals could probably already facilitate that, but then I suppose the sort of companies who make droppers also make a shitload of rear shocks in short travel configuration...

That's put me right in the mood for some un-necessarily powerful lager
Been working from home since yesterday, had a few sneaky completed tasks in reserve so i'm way ahead of myself already - might treat myself to a pre-apocalyptic beer or two* this evening followed by a couple of hours on the bike tomorrow morning before the work emails start requiring a response seeing as today we had the first hint of dry weather since August (not even kidding)
*more than 2, less than 10

28kg is a fair weight to be starting out with if you've never trained with kettle bells before, maybe stick to two handed exercises for a bit to get used to the weight of the bell if that's all you've got, overhead swings will give you a bit of practice with the bell above your head.
With the cleans / snatch from the floor you're leaning over to the side quite a bit to balance the bell which will put strain on your lower back, if it's pulling you to the side it's probably making you arch your spine, try and consciously pull your tailbone forward & tense your core to help support you, also try doing these from a swing instead of the ground to give you a bit of momentum into the movement & keep your elbow in contact with your side during the clean so you can't swing too far out in front.
28kg is a good weight for doing rounds of swing / clean / press (or push-press) - do 5 / 10 on each side & see how you get on, snatching with a 28 for starters will put strain on your lower back unless your technique is spot on, even try doing the jerk from a rack position instead - then you'll be dipping under the bell as your arm extends instead of pushing up through it.
I'd love to have a kettle bell at home just now - these Burpees are going to get old quite quickly I think
