I'm after a reasonable quality 26" rim-brake wheelset. Certainly nothing blingy, but not bargain-basement either. I don't mind if I need to true them up / replace bearings etc, as long as they don't weigh a tonne.

7 or 8 speed freehub is fine...

Would also require either a 7 or 8 speed bar end shifter, or maybe trigger shifter. Again, nothing fancy - STX / Deore etc would be plenty good enough, open to friction shifters too.

Anyone have anything kicking around?

After a reasonable set of V brakes - not fussy about the colour, but Deore / Avid SD5 / Dia Compe etc would be absolutely fine.

Can be just the calipers - I have pads etc here.

I'm pretty sure it's the original one? It's got Marin written on it anyway.

Chucked some cheapo Vees (boo) for the time being until I find a spring.

Thanks for checking - I have some bigger/shimano tyre springs here which don't fit inside the pivot on the caliper, which is why I'm being picky about the size

Thanks! This is what I'm missing one of basically - all the ones I seem to be able to find online are 18mm external (for shimano stuff) but if they're this size then I'm happy to pedal up and grab them?

This sounds good - I don't suppose you'd be able to measure the external diameter of the springs for me?!

I'm missing one spring from the cantilever brake assembly on an old Marin Bear Valley SE I'm trying to make into a functioning pub bike- happy to buy a complete set someone's taken off / has spare(or any random spares someone has laying around?) if needs be.

Or alternatively, a pair of canti springs with an external diameter of 15mm ish??

Okay so I managed to re-use everything except the tyres, tape, brake pads, cables, and saddle in the end.

All the original Suntour groupset turned out to work fine, hubs are good after a service, stops really well.

Wanted to do a bit 'more' with it, but it's also kind of nice it being mostly original. A friend is supposed to be collecting it today.
