Work continues on my gt tequesta. Wired up the front brake and put on the tyres I had sitting in my shed. Had a good go on the rear brake but got confused by the rear cable routing. The rest guide doesn't seem big enough for a cable end grommet thing and there's this weird pipe on the seat tube. I guess it was all designed for cantis not vs.

Need a new cable but once I get one I'll just ignore the seat post guide and route straight to the left, bodge a cable end in somehow.

If the bottom bracket shell measures 73mm that means it takes a 73mm bottom bracket right? Bike man seemed skeptical and sold me a 68mm but I'm pretty sure I'm reading the callipers directly. My first time installing a BB so am obviously terrified I'll screw it, destroy the frame etc.

The "waterproof shell" layer for my Dissent 133 gloves came today. It seems pretty waterproof but my hands hurt this morning coming in at -1. The gloves are only rated to 0 on their website but still. It gets below zero all the time.

Thinking about it for a while I realised WI make/made square taper bottom brackets. And those are JIS. Assuming that they would seek compatibility with their own BBS, I'm going to assume that's the taper.

They're an obscure White Industries by Sugino triple crankset that I can't find much information about on Sheldon, velobase, etc.

Should I buy some 700c knobblies for £5-20 to try and enjoy winter bridleways on my Croix De Fer or should I just fuck riding bikes off for the winter.

Annoyed to find that D4 has some 26" rear rim brake wheels that take a cassette (not a freewheel) for £38.

Couldn't find them on the website and thought I was saving a tenner buy buying a second hand wheel off the bay of dreams for £35 all in.

Best to just experiment with caffeine free teas. For an easily available brand, I like Pukka teas.

Alternatively I could ball out on this, which is pricey, but probably not much more than buying new cranks. Though I'll only have an 8 speed cassette in the back, so it feels a bit obscene to spend more than I've spent on my derailer, shifter, cassette and cranks combined on a blingy chainring.

Really just any crank that can take a widely available narrow wide chainring. Currently have a white industries crankset that has a 5 bolt 94bcd, a standard for which they don't really make n/w rings.

(Could just put a regular ring in there I know)

What's a good 1x crank + bottom bracket that would suit a 90s MTB dad bike conversion? Second hand eBay and cheap preferred.
