There was basically no seal betwixt rim and tyre and I don't have an air shot to I just tubed them.

What do people do about "optional" spurs that they might want to add? Try to remember? route in and back the same way? Multiple routes on the same device? Do any devices or apps do better or worse at this?
Thinking about touring etc when you might want to stop at a cake shop, but you might want to push on, depending.

Would anyone strongly advise against me trying to run some rigid smart sam performance (the cheapest ones) tubeless. Is it a total waste of time or just a medium to large faff that may yield results.
(I was going to retape the rims anyway and thought I may as well give it a shot)

I demand that no one in this thread talks about how warm anything is without reference to at least temperature, but preferably including windchill and exertion.

Do you live in the UK? How can you dry washing outside in this season? Its like 100% humidity and 5 degrees?

No other issues really, arm length is fine on me. It's a nice coat. I don't think I would ever wear it cycling though because of the slimness.

I own the PWVC ventile coat and I'm probably going to put it on ebay soon because its too slim. However with regards waterproofing it is fine for walking around the city in situations that you're going to be wearing a jacket like that. Realistically you would need something to cover your head if it was serious rain anyway.
It looks good. The cut is nice but slim (Mine is a size 3 and as someone who works out, the shoulders are way too slim, hence moving it, get in touch if you're interested, probably looking for about a hundred for it)
Brass hardware looks suitably luxy. It's unlined so it provides very little in the way of warmth but is windproof.With regards to eco credentials it seems to me that trying to work out the credentials of any "Waterproof, breathable" system, bought new, is splitting hairs. Membrane shell jackets are made of plastic and use flurocarbons to be waterproof. Modern DWR Ventile (and basically all 'waterproof cottons') is maybe better, maybe worse because it's cotton coated in flurocarbons instead of plastic. There's that new Eco Ventile which is recycled cotton, so maybe fractionally better or the Finisterre waterproof jackets, which are recycled plastic made without flurocarbons, but I have no idea what they're made with instead.
I've seen a few waxed jackets made with soy wax, those seem relatively eco or it might be greenwashing. Either way they aren't the same aesthetic.
Buying something second hand or getting damp is always going to be the dominant eco solution so rather than worrying about which waterproofing solution to go for, I would just start cruising ebay for something that suits your needs.
Failing that, the community clothing raincoat seems nice

My hands are cold inside the above gloves and I'm sick of it. Bought some RAB liner gloves which help a bit but I'm sick of worrying about it. Thinking of lobster mitts. Had a search through the thread but could only find lukewarm reviews of the planetX ones. Any other recommendations? I have plenty of options down to about 5 degrees, I just want a bulletproof solution for when it's going to be -5 > temp < +5

clearance at 50mm looks a bit suspect though.
Also why do the two different groupsets have different tyre clearances? Baffling.

Woohoo I have built a bike! Stem has been flipped since photo taken. Thanks for the help all. Minor to dos are remove the weird thing on the seat stay bridge so I can attach the mini mud guards I have. Also swap out the pedals for some plastic dmrs when I can.
Now I need someone to invite me to the pub so I can ride it there...

The hard part was working out where it began. That done the headset installation tool worked well.

New headset installed on the gt tequesta with the trusty headset press.
However there's a little circle that came with the headset, it seems to be equivalent Tu the one that's already on the fork.
Should I replace the one that's on the fork? If so.. How. It seems pretty well attached. If I put the new circle on top it looks pretty odd so I feel that's not the play.

Bottom bracket installed on GT tequesta. Never installed a bottom bracket before. Hope i did it right because I don't have a crank puller.
Waiting for rear brake widgets to cable that. Then going to try removal of the headset and replacing it with another one.

Pic courtesy of Stridsland shows a reasonable way of sorting it, though like I said, I'm not sure my grommets fit into the cable guide under the top tube so I might try some sugru or araldite or something.
