I think you'd actually be surprised. Being from Belgium, I had never heard of something like it. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist there, but in the UK people are often talking about it (at least by the English people I know), it gets mentioned in probably 60% of QI episodes etc. So yes, a very British thing IMO

Passing it on will depend from person to person, irregardless of already having been positive (superspreaders vs 'regular' spreaders). People have tested positive twice. Fernando Gaviria for example.

There was an interview with Adrie VdP 2 weeks ago on Belgian TV where he said AF is aiming to beat Arkea on the pro conti team ranking. Ending 1st there gives you starting right everywhere as opposed to starting obligations like the WT teams.
Upgrading to WT now might be stretching themselves too much as theyd need a bigger roster and could prove too costly (travelling to Tour of China etc).
They might be interested in taking over a WT licence at some point but merging teams would mean taking over part of the other team's structure and personnel, hence them not negotiating with CCC. They want to do their own thing.

De Plus had an injury keeping him off the bike for a long time. Then first he was in the Giro selection but that is also not happening now. In every article I read about him not going to the Tour the rumours of him going to Ineos were being mentioned, so that might also have got something to do with his "slow recovery" and not being part of any of the Jumbo lineups for the GTs this year

And Matty Hancock was trying to bring this up on R4 earlier when saying how essentional it is to make international comparions as we do have a large testing program we just appear to be using it inefficienctly
This makes the blood boil, few months ago they were refusing international comparisons because of this and that reason. They only want to compare when they can spin it in their favour

Back in the day when commuting was a thing, I used to take Shakespeare Rd rather than milkwood to go between HH and Loughbourough. Good to see they are tackling Milkwood.
Didnt know about Railton, and was pleasantly surprised last week when cycling there w the girlfriend. She is normally not very confident with the bike and was loving it, so it is definitely helping people overcoming some fears around cycling/walking in London -

Why wouldn't the EU care about that? That would be a direct hit to their single market, so would be one of the first things they'd flag. The integrity of the single market has been paramount from the get go, and will continue to be so. It's the EU's raison d'être, so I'd be amazed if they'd be OK with letting goods travel undeclared from Eng/Scot/Wales to NI and the into the EU.
Edit: but then I read that Twitter thread and can't follow it tbh, not sure what he means.

It's just hard to see where the posturing stops and the uk govt's actual red lines start.
I still see them backing out of no deal and just reframing whatever new negotiations/transition period or whatever is coming. Semantics and optics are all too important for the tories
