Are the levers designed for mini-v brakes rather than long arm v-brakes? If so that could very well explain it, your symptoms do sound very much cable pull ratio related.
If you Google v brake vs mini v brake cable pull ratio there is an excellent article explaining exactly that which I'm failing to articulate any better. It may have even been a Sheldon but I can't remember. Hope that helps!
And the above poster is correct. The two anchor points are indeed to allow for usage with different brake types. However if you are in the v position and yet the lever is designed for mini v you will still experience the sponginess described.

Def price gouging, and it's never going back.
4k does go a long way I agree - as it bloomin well should. About as long as 2.5k used to.
Also, that rival AXS specc'd aethos in question - of the demographic who'd buy that, how many would stick with those wheels? I'd guess that the answer is approximately Zero, and if so, by proxy one ends up with a 5.5k minimum investment to 'get the most from it'. Minus the 100 odd quid you could get for flipping the wheels.
Anyway, not a criticism - I'm sure it's a great bike. I'm just horrified at what is considered normal now, and as consumers we've just lapped it up as always, hence it never going back

Hi good morning.
I'm afraid I'm not up for posting. Given the cost, hassle, and risk I just don't think I trust it for an item of this nature - my apologies.
I would however be up for cycling it to one of the major London stations, were you to decide to get a train in. That's about the best I can do for the time being. Once again my apologies, and I hope that helps!
Many thanks

Bank Holiday Bump..
Also happy to sell this with a barely used (approx 500km on these only) pair of Campag Zonda C17s, for £1250.
They are currently wearing a 28mm gp5000 rear, and a 25mm gp4000 front, and would be supplied with Kool Stop Salmon brake pads installed.
Can upload pics later! Thanks again :)

Thanks for the endorsement!
Yep the wheels are bloomin amazing.. They are bonkers fast and I will miss them sorely. If I remember I weighed the set at 1420 ish grams and of course they don't even need rim tape. Genuinely in two minds about letting this lot go but anyway, onwards and upwards
Also, pics of inside of headtube and general carbon loveliness as mentioned in first post:

Hi there,
For sale is my Canyon Ultimate in a size S (54 in Canyon sizing.)
Collection is from London E1, viewings are welcome
The frame is pretty damn near immaculate. I've photographed the one single blemish to the paint I've been able to find, which is on the NDS Chainstay. It's approx 1mm in diameter, maybe less.
As pictured it weighs bang on 7kg. However, I'll be swapping the currently mounted 105 11-32 cassette out for a nearly new R8000 11-30, and will also be swapping the mid-cage RD out for a short cage one prior to sale. This might shave another 50gr or so.
I'm looking for
£1850£1800 in the following setup.Ultimate frameset size S
110mm Canyon V13 Stem, S13 carbon Seatpost - 15mm-35mm setback
Full R8000 groupset. 11-30 cassette, 52/36 - 172.5 chainset (kmc chain)
Campagnolo Bora One 50 clinchers (latest model with AC3 brake track) - brand new campag red brake pads, and new freehub body.
Gp4000ii 25mm rear, GP5000 25mm front, both low mileage
Zipp SL70 Aero bars - 40cm c-c
Carbon EC90 Saddle
Month old Supacaz bar tapeEverything greased, torqued, lubed, cabled, frame protectored, and otherwise maintained as it should be. Fresh cables, with TRP compressionless housing for the brakes.
Front wheel was a warranty replacement and as such is nearly new. Rear has approx 6,000km on it. Hubs are bloomin perfect.
I actually had the fork out of this frame a while back, and was genuinely surprised as to how nicely this frame is made, as visible from the layup inside. I'll see if I can dig the photos out. I'd imagined I was going to find a mess but it's essentially pristine, A-class work.
Any questions do just ask. Similarly if you want any more pics
Many thanks!
