Just got my second carbon frame fancy bike stolen this year. So, I'm giving up on having one in Hackney.

Lo0king now for a bike that works really well, but was top of the line in like, 1987 or something. Would prefer complete bike that I can start with, then customise later.

Previous bike was an excellent fit. Cannondale Synapse 2018, 56cm. Equivalent size please.

After being mugged for my Genesis Datum last weekend, I'm now back looking for a bike.

Kind of narrowed it down to the following wish list.

size = 54cm - medium

Carbon frame + hydro brakes.

Eying : Specialized Roubaix, Cannondale Synapse, Canyon Endurance.

Hoping for something not very eye catching. The stolen bike was bright blue. Happened on the lea river towpath around Tottenham.

Not put off... doubling down. But I’ll avoid certain areas now on that kind of posh bike. Any ideas on less conspicuous road bikes?

Sure. Here’s an annotated map of where it happened. I’d be very cautious about biking around here unless there are a lot of other people around.

Genesis Datums both - white one is a 30 from 2016, blue is a 20 from 2018.

@Tomouse : CDF or Eq from a couple years ago should go < 1k I guess. 1k would be max budget because for 1.5k I could go new.

Open to advice also. Just did a nice weekend ride on my single speed steel, which was cool but looking for a little more versatility both on hills, flats and in the forest.

Would prefer at least 105 groupset. If you are selling something along those lines, Sequoia / arkose or even an interesting bmc disc, I’m interested also.

Garmin 520 plus or like. Going to use it more for Strava route following than anything else, at least initially.
