So I know this is something that has been thrown up in other examples of bike packing kit before and of course there’s the old adage: ‘everything’s been done’ but somehow this still pisses me off a bit. Stumbled across this company the other day: https://vapcycling.com
They literally only make two products and both of them are just complete rip off’s of other people’s fairly innovative designs but with dumb as shit names. Firstly their “Butterfly guns” handlebar harness system is just a copy of bar yak’s design and then their seatpack, the even more loathsomely named, “kangaroo guns” is a copy of porcelain rockets Mr. Fusion design.

The bivibikes femur fork, I posted a link about a couple of pages ago comes close i.e the rake is the same but longer A/C and no tapered steerer or theres the Landyachtz adventure fork which has a tapered steerer. Both steel with 12mm thru axle options and 3 bosses on the fork legs. https://landyachtzbikes.com/bike/adventure-fork/

Thanks for the advice guys! Although now also toying with the idea of metallic fade between two shades of grey something like this: https://www.instagram.com/p/B0DkrInFVsl/

Anyone heard much about thses guys: https://bivibikes.com/buy

framesets are pretty cheap and hit a lot of the feature points: smooth cable routing, front and rear thru axles, tonnes of bottle bosses everywhere. If I didn't have an Spesh AWOL that was too similar I'd probably give one a go. I'm also tempted to swap the current fork on the AWOL for there offering which has triple cage mounts on the legs and 12mm thru axle to make swapping over to my dyanmo wheel set much easier.

Hi,
This might seem like a daft question but I have in fact tried to do my homework already and come across a lot of contradictory advice. So here it is, I have a CAAD10 frame that I recently had the paint stripped off because it was getting a bit tatty and bubbling in a few places. I was going to paint but instead have decided to leave it raw but obviously want to clearcoat/lacquer it to offer at least some barrier from corrosion .
The internet is, as usual, full of various suggestions of how to do it including those saying it can't be done but obviously it can as I previously owned one of the polish Mash rip off Mielec frames that was coated bare alu and that held up fine for years.
So whats the best advice/products for doing this at home?
Cheers,
Ben. -

Thanks for the replies! @Albb that's a nice Ti post and I'm very tempted but I think it's definitely going to clash with my frame a bit. Cheers.

Hey,
As per title I'm after a nice-ish looking, functional 27.2 inline seatpost, Ideally a Zipp service course in the beyond black colour or perhaps something by FSA or thomson? at a stretch I would consider carbon don't want to break the bank though. Let me know if you have anything that fits the bill!Cheers,
Ben. -

Has anyone else stumbled across the auction for all the stock from the retailer Ubyk that went in liquidation. The auction seems to be happening in a couple of days in Scunthorpe and the whole catalogue is available to view online and you can place online bids but it's collection only. The interesting part is the lots seem to have been put together by people with no knowledge of bike parts for example there is a couple along the lines of 'box of assorted cranks' and in the pictures they contain high end Rotor and Sram cranksets as well as a dropper post and random hope hub. There's also a couple of Parlee frames currently sitting at like £500 online bid.... https://www.bidspotter.co.uk/en-gb/auction-catalogues/timed/eddisons/catalogue-id-eddiso10467/search-filter?archiveSearch=False&categoryCode=ITA
Yeh I steered clear of mentioning another such example involving someone’s saddle bag design and a well known company beginning with ‘R’ but rest assured I’m sure a lot of other people haven’t forgotten either! Excited to see what’s coming in the future from you btw!
