Usual spacers are too thick for a nice transition.

Nitto makes some spacers that work perfectly with the BMbars.

I think as @PhilDAS mentioned it’s highly unlikely that someone would make knock off 1 1/4th headsets. After thinking about it I’d probably go ahead.

PS the price he’s selling at is pretty close to industry cost.

The seller has good reviews and seems to sell a lot of high end items. However, they have 5 1 1/4 king headsets in stock at half price does seem fishy. You’re gonna use PayPal, and all disputes will basically side with you.

On one page it says he’s in the US and another it says he’s in Thailand.

Anyone wanna check my math? 700x28 = diameter of 678, 650x38 = 660, 650x42 = 668.

So if I go from a 700x28 -> 650x38 the bike will be 9mm lower 678- 660 = 18/2= 9 and if I go to 42 the bike will be 5mm lower 678- 668= 10/2= 5

I did it on my Fat Chance, it does make it a bit more road friendly. I used ProMax adaptaterz.

Thanks! Surprisingly the mud and fenders played well together. The leaf litter bogged up the rear fender a few times. I thought that perhaps I should install one of theses on my fender.

I’m going to change out the Ciussi Inox cages for some Ti King cages. I keep having to reshape the Ciussi after carrying water bottles. I need to also clean up the front dynamo wiring and string up a rear light.

Thanks! It’s a early bike, built for my old boss Clint Paige. It’s either a 77 or 79, Peter doesn’t remember, he supposedly has the paperwork still and is looking for it. It’s got a steep headtube and seattube. It’s pretty close to 75°, I should measure it properly.

The cranks are 175 and a little bit long for me, I was getting wicked pedal stroke yesterday. I did bite off more then I could chew, didn’t expect to be on single track.

Zanconato completely flew under my radar and yes he is very, very good with his proportions, even the high stack bikes are very balanced.

Mike (Zanconato) studied under Toby Stanton of Hot Tubes. Toby builds pretty straight forward no-nonsense bikes, sometimes with ugly paint jobs ;)
