I'd wholeheartedly recommend Horizons. Have put around 3,500 miles on mine so far and they look like new. No punctures and hardly any cuts. They've gone over some horrendous Norwegian gravel roads in the rain and some really rocky paths, plus 6 months of London commuting.

Cheers, I should have left the guards on though. I took them off to give more clearance for gravel etc but should have just ran them a bit gappy for the trip.

Was great, just rather wet. A ratio of 2 dry days to 11 wet wasn't really what I was hoping for

I've just done a tour to Norway with the below set up.

Enjoyed it much more than previous tours where I've had a rear rack, 2 panniers and dry bag all on the back.

Not sure re max tyre size but I reckon 40mm comfortably. I ran 32mm with guards and plenty of room to spare.

SP dynamo front hub and Shimano RS505 Qr rear hub laced to 28h DT Swiss 553D 26" 28h rims. Wheels have been used for around 400 miles on my girlfriends Isen. Selling as she's not using them and unlikely to in the future. They'll come complete with the near immaculate Marathon Supremes.

I've always worn my SPD sandals on any long multi day stuff I've done for precisely this issue. They dry out really quick, no wet socks to deal with etc, can't recommend them enough. However, I've never read about anyone else using sandals on these types of events.

Cracking effort though, you obviously had some serious form and legs going into the race.

Yeah was great, weather wasn't brilliant for much of it.

The front panniers worked really well, no issues with clearance or handling. They were standard back roller classics so bigger than the normal Ortleib front panniers.

I've just finished a London to Bergen tour. Great fun despite the weather, Norway is incredible.
