Pixies were good last night. Does feel a but like they're just on autopilot with it now, though 2 hours back to back no breaks was a good effort. Crowd had some annoying characters as well.

Haven't listened to Blank Check for a while but I seem to remember (sorry @Hefty) when they first announced they were in a position to do ads Griffin couldn't wait to get started on it. Think it was suggested that David would just record things and slide it in in post but Griffin jokingly said he'd quit if he didn't get to do the ad read but then not actually that jokingly (hopefully this is the same Blank Check).

I couldn’t get there until 8:45 so missed the support and was getting a drink just as they were coming on. Ended up parking myself in the balcony for the whole thing as fancied something to lean on.

Fucked Up we’re excellent again tonight. Even better than last year. First time at Lafayette in Kings Cross and really liked it too. Next up Pixies on Tuesday.

Came across an Instagram post with everyone in the comments slating him because he did a video comparing a cheaper older overdrive pedal with more expensive stuff saying it’s really good or something. Prices have since rocketed on the pedal and people were banging on about how he hypes up pedals that he has a load of to bump up price and and profit. I’ve always just thought he was a big collector who liked showing all his stuff whilst also doing the opposite and show that some of the stuff out there is actually overhyped and overpriced and showing alternatives so seems a weird take.

Yeah I think it started in Brooklyn back in 2011 so I'm expecting a very specific vibe. The 'Bring Your Own Guitar' advice gives me a bit of smile too, though imagine there's going to be a few people walking round with some expensive guitars which could get sketchy (I will have mine too, but I promise it's because I've got to go straight to the practice from it and not because I'm going to plug into every bass pedal I can find with no intention of purchasing).

Looking forward to this Synth and Pedal Expo this weekend, though the Overground being off and a band practice at 2 means I'll only be able to have about an hour there. Hopefully be alright for a wander around though.

Finished off my second pedal today. Fuzzdog clone of an xotic BB preamp with caps to make it more bass friendly which I assume aligns it with the BB Bass Preamp. Very happy with the final product.
