Finished In/Half by Jasmin B. Frelih yesterday and I think that I've got no idea what happened for a chunk of it. I think I enjoyed the bits I did get but couldn't recommend it because then I'd have to justify why. Plan to re-read it later in the year and see if I pick up any extra bits.

Someone in my Year 11 chemistry class once decided he needed to know if the test tube he was holding in tongs after just removing it from the flame was still hot. He did so by pressing it onto the neck of his good friend leaving him with quite a nice burn. I think they were each other’s best men at their weddings

Does this mean the 'Rock God' award I was given in Year 11 means nothing? I've been riding off the back of that for years.

Started back in college and think I got it down <60s back in the day, but never bothered to work out/learn any additional algorithms to improve that time any further. Can still solve it in about 90s though which I'll probably be happy with for life

Thanks, In my quest to be a late 20s park rat I have been tempted by something similar to a gaffer tape solution but will also look at patches, had seen some on a site somewhere last night but wasn't sure of their effectiveness.

Yeah that's the other worry I've had too, wouldn't be surprised if it filled up with snow through the day given where it is.

Any recommendations on salopette repair? Managed to make a slight nick in mine after a misjudged box attempt saw me smashing my shin on the edge. As the pictures show, it's only a small tear and only the outer section that is affected. It's on the shin though so worry that it could slowly increase in size if caught on things. Posted on the Snowboard thread also in case their is any advice there.

Yes I do wish I had kept them up properly through the year as for me at least they made a noticeable difference when I go away. Hope to try and do so this year just as part of a general routine also.

It was a lot of fun. We ended up getting there about 10 minutes before the start and decided to chance going up the side of the run and seeing where we ended up. Was happy with the result. There was a lot of drinking going on, though after a pretty heavy week of skiing and snowboarding in the area for my group we were a bit too tired to take part in all of that. Will definitely be looking at trying to plan a trip that is near to a race again next year too.

Went to Hahnenkamm Downhill today and it was absolute madness. Such a great experience. Managed to poach a spot on the fence looking at the last section of the run and the final jump. The speed was just mind blowing
