I suppose youve done the usual things like applying good grease to the right surfaces. Where in the stroke is the creak happening? Are you using press fit or threaded bb? Is the wavy washer on correctly?

I think the only way to stay in centralish London for those born there is if you can get a chunk of your parents lottery winning property equity growth - assuming they own, and are willing to help you of course.

In theory it comes out in the wash economically, eventually, if your family own local and stay local.

This is depressing to read. I’m sure most of us would like to have an eco solution, even if paying a bit upfront for it, but this just doesn’t sound viable even now.

Do you regret going the eco route?

Do I go for a 2 year fixed mortgage deal at 2.09% or a 5 year at 2.19%? Obviously the initial repayments are lower with the 2 year deal, but from what I understand is that we are still near the edge of the spiralling black hole of shit that the world is going into so the 5 year may be better overall?

We had a house purchase fall through when we had a mortgage deal at the mega 1% blip last year, now I feel more pissed about losing the mortgage offer than the house.

Worth considering some offerings from Hutchinson, IMO they have the best tubeless setup and are very well priced. Fusion 5 all season or Intensive 2 could be worth considering for nice tough but not horrible tyres. Not huge sizes mind.
