Gulp, sorry for the really tardy reply! Yes, will be dropping them off to @Pitucaleya soon as I get up to town (haven't forgotten!)
However I do now have a another set: Mavic MA2 SBP rims (flat profile touring types I think); rear hub's a Shimano Tricolor 126mm OLN, seven speed block; front hubs a Suntour. Both look to be in good shape, will drop them on the wheel builder to check they're true (they seem to spin well.)
Rear skewer's good, front is tarnished.
Would guess they are early '80's but would happily defer to other expertise.
I've not ridden them, taken straight off a bike and are surplus.
Couple of quick pics (will be keeping the tyres.)
Don't know what to charge for these - they're nice (once I've given them a wash - my bad), so maybe £40 posted? Or make me an offer :-) -

Anyone know anything about Geoff Smith bikes? I know there's a shop in Bolton, and Geoff was an Olympic rider in the early '80's (Wikipedia - same one?)
Not sure they made frames but can anyone shed any light on mid-80's f&f they might have built / badged? Have sent a mail to the shop in case as well.
cheers

I've single-handedly failed to install these, and now have a hole in the frame to let water in :-(
Tried the wheel-hub / skewer / diy tool method.
Should I buy a rivnut setting / pulling tool and if so, any ideas what I should buy and where from? Or what's the trick with the nut and bolt mentioned by @danstuff? -

Would say white... or these in red!

Fairly sure I've a still got a black-finish Weinmann concave front, clincher, but a 700 not a 27" (have the pair, rear is a 6spd heliothingy but that rim's badly dented so happy to let the front go.)
Is in the shed, can check tonight and send you pics - if you don't get something sorted sooner? I'd need to post it to you... :-(
cheers

So we just scraped the warm-up test?
Reads like the real negotiations on trade might be, erm, quite a bit harder:

Possibly the greatest research paper I've ever read. For a research thread?
