Same, i still wouldnt be 100% happy with either extension technique. Neither are an ideal solution for rigidity in the longterm i feel. I would be interested to see how they all hold up.
As you say @Kimmo you gotta really want THAT fork to extend it really.

I am both impressed and scared. Lovely machine work but i wonder how solid it is just with a bit of loctite and set pins.
Especially with 3 pieces i would be wary of the strength on that once it starts going ove bumps and the stress of a preson leaning on it.But probably the cleanest stearer add on i've seen though !

I lived there for 2 years (berlin to be precise) and i used mostly google translate and it seemed to be ok, well enough to buy stuff. And if they didnt seem to understand i just let it go. It is after all a private ads site for germany so they arent always keen on shipping.
You could always try and contact a german bike shop ? They might take commission but could help you out. -

She's great ! I have tried contacting other companies before with no results, so its refreshing to get someone who is happy to talk and try to help out !
A small update from Lara, i guess the official Somec research stops here. But i have the OG name of the dealer who imported the frame. Apparently my frame was featured in a magazine at some point but i and the previous owner havent found the magazine yet...
we built many Sirius frames, almost all of the them where custom built. Also the famous, sadly passed away, actor Robin Williams ordered one of them, recently sold at an auction.
Having no more the complete records office of the past I cannot inform you about the quantity of Sirius we built. -
A quick update as i did get a great and welcoming answer from Lara on my somec sirius :
Your Somec Sirius is really in very good condition. Thanks to the code
you gave me I can tell you it is a frame built on 23 mai 2000 for a
shop in Paris called cycles Boittelle, now it exist no more.It adds a shop before the shop "velo futur" where the guy i got it from told me he had purchased it in 2002.
However a build year of 2000 means it was earlier than i thought.I am going to carry on and hopefully find out some more about the number os Sirius frames produced and maybe more !

Oh cool so there is some tracability. I know mine is quite a limited and recent series, from 2002.. so i am hopeful to get something.
But 2 positive reviews is good enough for me to give it a go !I'll post feedback if i get any info as there is basically no info on Sirius framesets on the internet i can find apart from the odd sale. (One of which is a double 650 from Robin Williams collection RIP)

So just a quickie ; Has anyone ever reached out to Somec to try and get any info vis à vis serial numbers, frame dates etc ?
I am having a hard time finding stuff on my Sirius and was wondering if they were the kind of company thats likes receiving the odd email or if they were the kind that just ignore.

so i guess we are all waiting for someone somewhere to bite the bullet !
