Raleigh RSP Randonneur Reynolds 708 frameset inc. original documents 54.5cm
To be clear - I am most keen to get the frameset sold. The parts listed are just to help with a build if you need parts.
- 54.5 cm seat tube (centre-top), 55 cm top tube (centre-centre), 12.1 cm headtube. Forks 385mm axle-crown.
- 1999: Last year of RSP frames built in UK I believe.
- Reynolds 708 tubing (rifled inside for stiffness) - quite rare
- Original docs inc signed photo from frame builder Clive.
- Clearance for 33+mm tyres with guards. I have used some 35s and they were close to the chainstays but fine everywhere else. 35mm depends on rim width. The chainstays aren't at all dimpled so this could be increased by a competent builder but probably don't!
- Very good condition - a few minor touch ups.
- No dents or major scrapes.
- 28.6 top tube and down tube
- One area on seat tube where a bit of the top red coat on the paint flaked off showing a paler colour underneath- where the original front mech was. I had replaced the front mech and lowered it for smaller chainrings. I covered this patch with electrical tape but then removed it to clean the bike prior to sale, and a bit more came off! Just going to leave this as is and let new owner choose how to cover it.
- Can probably find the touch up paint I found for it - a Halfords metallic red car kit in quite a close match.
- Frame has plugged holes for internal dynamo light routing.
- Fork has a mount for a roller dynamo.
- Selling as I'm riding larger frames now and don't want to butcher this with a daft stem.
- Seatpost is non-original (a decent Kinesis one with better adjustment, though bit scratched).
If you're sure want the frameset and any parts, please dibs and PM me. Otherwise questions below. Please don't PM me about parts only - I would like to set this frameset up as a build with some of the parts that suit it. The parts will probably go for sale later on once I've sold the big bits!
Frame, forks, seatpost, NOS 105 headset recently fitted and not used since, front canti hanger, with long bolt to mount mudgard, pictured stem: £250 plus £22.50 postage. NOW £240
If smaller parts included, will try to put in frame box. Wheels sent separately, at cost of £11 postage.
Parts to help with build if you need them (Wheels posted separately for £11 extra):
- Various Nitto handlebars - traditional or modern compact. 24.5 or 26mm.
- A few diff. quill stems 80-90mm, various conditions. Or a NOS Velo Orange quill-ahead adapter.
- A set of TRP brake levers in decent condition. Black, silver levers. £18
- Surly rear canti hanger (in the frame pics). Best one I've used, and one is needed for this frame. £5.
(Frame originally came with working Magura drop bar hydros which I sold to a mate as I didn't want the faff!) - Tektro CR720 canti brakes (in the frame pics) £18
- Shimano BR CX50 canti brakes - new in box
- Wheels: Silver 105 on silver Kinlin ADHN touring rims 36/32 , Sapim Race Spokes- hardly used - built for this bike. Bear in mind current 105 is more gunmetal then silver so not hyper-trad. Probably £110.
- Wheels: XT on Mavic touring rims: 36/36. Been used on my commuter and hubs feel fine but haven't serviced bearings for a year. Rims part worn. Probably £80.
(The frame was specced with XT hubs and is nominally 135mm but with long steel chainstays easily takes 130mm without force). - Cranks: Deore square taper triple / Spa Cycles square taper triple. Maybe some chainrings to suit. Un55 BBs - plenty used good condition or a have new 118mm (works OK for triple chainline).
- Shifters: Simplex friction (currently fitted in pics), Shimano 600 8 speed, or Shimano cable stops for STIs/bar end shifters to be used.
- Vittoria Hyper Voyager folding tyres 32mm (measure a bit wider). Well used. (Best affordable wide slicks I've used. Supple AF. No longer made). £10
- A few basic saddles, e.g. Charge Spoon (though this cries out for a Brooks). £1-5.
- Hollowtech BBs - good used cond. - Silver Tiagra / Black Ultegra. £5 / £9
- Probably other parts as needed - just ask.
- 54.5 cm seat tube (centre-top), 55 cm top tube (centre-centre), 12.1 cm headtube. Forks 385mm axle-crown.

As per title.
I no longer have an Italian threaded frame, so no need to have this spare.
NOS, in packaging. Grubby packaging from garage fingers.
For those who don't know, this is the Ultegra/XT level BB, no longer made. Alu cups both sides and hollow steel axle. (vs. current un55 solid axle and alu cup one side).
Dibs and PM if you want it for sure.
£20 NOW £19 plus £3.50 postage.

As per title.
Dibs and PM if you want them for sure.
Nice condition, no scrapes or wear. Went for a bigger model for use with chunky shoes. These are nice with toeclips and slimmer shoes e.g. Sambas, Converse.
Used less than 100 miles, or a few rides.
Bearings smooth, no play, though feel a little dry - not the buttery smooth of higher end stuff. Maybe I haven't worn them in. They can be adjusted though.
£15 NOW £14 plus £3.50 postage

As per title. Used once. Not sure if I loved it or not, but liking it would have meant getting one for every bike, and I'm not going down that rabbit hole.
Dibs and PM if you want it for sure.
Black rails (reflected light in pic).
With packaging (cardboard a bit mucky from garage fingers).
£55 NOW £53.50 plus £4 postage
