When I got my Barley I also ordered some extra leather straps to use on the cape loops, but didn't check the measurements, and ended up with some long (50cm?) ones. This means that I can strap a jacket to the top and still have enough strap hanging loose that I can run the tail end to the bag's buckles as a kind of poor man's longflap. I wouldn't want to do it in bad weather or with lots of small items, but I've managed to over-stuff the bag and carry a surprisingly large amount of crap that way.

Sounds like my Camper is the one to take with me on the trails then...
(I suppose anything with a suitable cover/scabbard will look suitably like a tool rather than an offensive weapon, though I like the idea of a grass hook sticking out of the saddlebag for that pint-sized grim reaper effect - am guessing it would greatly cut down on close passes...)

Not necessarily; mine didn't. I got one on eBay that arrived within a couple of days - this one looks similar, and supposedly has a London-based seller, so @sodha might be able to message them and ask? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pizza-Paddle-Peel-Bakers-BBQ-Oven-Restaurant-Wooden-Handle-66CM-kitchen-UK/133451367462
Otherwise give Nisbets a ring? -

This Which page suggests that if you've got proof of postage back, they need to refund you within 14 days of the date of posting; presumably their inability to get to a sorting office is their problem, not yours?
https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-contracts-regulations#cancelling-goods-and-servicesEdit - the text you want to quote at them is regulation 34 para 5 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013:
(5) If the contract is a sales contract and the trader has not offered to collect the goods, the time [for a refund] is the end of 14 days after
(a)the day on which the trader receives the goods back, or
(b)if earlier, the day on which the consumer supplies evidence of having sent the goods back.Trading standards?

My wholesaler has it at £5.95 a kilo, so that seems reasonable.
