To be clear - the joke was that YouTube makes it look like you can dial in any setting and get Techno in return.
Yes, the DFAM can make entire Techno tracks by itself even without resampling/multi-tracking,
Carlos Native has any number of videos doing just that to great effect. -
It's can be a problem when half of your music making energy goes into chasing new gear though and there's nothing like buying a piece because you've seen someone else doing what you want to do with it, then when you get it you don't get anywhere near the same thing out of it.
This describes my experience with the DFAM - so far I've only been able to get little zaps and squelchy farts out of it. YouTube had me thinking it was some magic box that spits out Techno when you press Run.
Hardware's been bumming me out lately. I have enough stuff now that a patch bay would really help speed things up, but seeing as I have a mix of balanced and unbalanced lines I'd need two separate bays and also a reamp box for my pedals, etc. Utilities get so expensive so fast...

Eager to give this a swing - Tahti: Browser-based Groovebox
Also, don't know when this happened, but Surge is now open-source.

@withered_preacher Better than what's listed in the official catalogs - 82-90lbs.
@J-Shooter Thanks! I'm rather proud of how it came out. I think next year I'll do some minor aesthetic modifications and get it properly painted.
