Kind of makes sense, I don’t own a drill though. Do you remember where you read the article?
The hole is quite clean actually. I turned the rim tape around so it’s covered, and I got home on a new inner tube without the wheel collapsing on me.
However I am conscious that if it does eventually go wrong, it will probably go very wrong, and I’m not too comfortable with that. I was hoping someone else on here might have been through this already!
Unless @mdcc_tester has some wisdom..?

Complete bikes rarely sell for their actual value as it is quite likely the buyer will have to spend time/money making alterations to suit their personal style (ride or aesthetic). It is rare that two people will want the same bicycle...
LFGSS users are pretty sharp when it comes to components and their value

Allegedly the cyclist hit a pot hole and fell off in front of the lorry, so the driver wasn't driving dangerously
This is scary if true; the last place you are looking at is down at the road when navigating Old St. round about, so it could have happened to anyone
If this is true then perhaps the council are accountable to some degree. Regardless, my thoughts have been with the victim ever since I heard the horrific, sad and scary news.

That’s encouraging, thank you
