I chipped away at it, short rides morning and evening on Christmas Eve, medium ride on Christmas day when the kids were in bed, then commuting to work and back in the period in between.
I was left with 100 miles to do on the final day which included four different rides from London to Essex (train ride), Ipswich to deepest Suffolk and then the return legs. Pleased when that final ride was over, I was pretty spent.
Get some good gloves!

You should use the snap traps. Every time a mouse goes in the humane trap it learns about it and will soon avoid going in.
You have to take them further away, or they will keep coming back.
You need to go on a massive hunt to find the entry points and block them with wire wool.
I must have spent several weeks plugging up hole after hole, I even took the kitchen apart to block everywhere. They can fit through a hole the size of a Biro pen lid, so even block round radiator pipes, water pipes etc.
I stuck mesh grills over the ventilation grills on the outside of the house to stop them coming in there too.
I was mouse obsessed! Thankfully I have now recovered, and we haven't had a mouse for over a year, possibly two years.
TL:DR kill them. Block holes.
