Dunno if this question has been posed on the forum before but anyhow.
As I understand it most of us are sort of one sided with our hands and feet etc and when it comes to cycling again we tend to have a preferred side.
With me it's the right side that is the leg that I lead off with and the left is the one that I unclip first when coming to a stop.
I need to change this over so that I lead off with the left and use that side to do one legged coasting etc. However I'm finding it really hard to do, the muscle memory is too damn deep and when I come to the traffic lights or wotnot I panic and frantically switch back to the regular foot.
The reason I want to do this is to give my right knee a bit of respite.
Has anyone else managed to achieve total switch over?

Well Colnago C40s are pretty commonplace but then again the Merckx is alu which is a material that doesn't last forever.
So in my opinion I would flog the Merckx because even though it is an attractive bike (with horizontal handlebars) one fine day it will crack and its best to not be in ownership when it does.

Having a sourdough baking in the oven next to me this morning isn't doing my hunger pangs any good.
I would imagine living next door to a bakery or patisierre could be a nightmare for anyone trying to keep trim.
There used to be a commercial one on Lambeth road, the waft was incredible whenever one cycled past in the morning.

I think theres something about pull post 2015 which means all can be used together but it all seems a bit vague.
Make sure whichever shifters you use are 2015 and onwards. 2014 and older shifters will not work with Potenza, end of story.
If you intend to buy your (2015) Chorus shifters second hand then the thing to look out for is the type face on the levers will be on a solid white stripe and also the design of the hood pattern is different.
I am doing the Etape again this year and I will be using a Potenza rear mech with... Super Record shifters! why? because Campagnolo don't offer a medium cage rear derailleur in the higher gruppo range. 32t cassette reasons.
The one thing people need to understand with Campagnolo is that they don't want you to mix 'n match they want people to buy pure unsullied groupsets.
Bang for buck? Chorus mechanical 11 speed.

From the front and the marked rider at 1 km to go, to the back and nobody watching him with 300m to go, the man is a genius!
Yes, it was gripping stuff. I was wondering what he would come up with to out-fox the others.
His legs must have been feeling terrific to shoot out the back like that and create such a margin. Almost like Usain Bolt with the looking around. -

So many people looking the wrong way down the Blackfriars cycle lane and stepping out in front of me. Arseholes, every man-jack of them.
London is like that these days I'm afraid. You need to do stupid people's thinking for them all the time.
BTW : I loathe what they have done to Blackfriars road, was nothing wrong with it, fast, straight if you couldn't ride a bike safely down it then I wonder...
When I occasionally commute along it since the works I'm more wary of the 'Peleton' than of quat chewing mini-cab drivers.

I have a one inch Columbus Minimal on my Merckx Acobaleno and very nice it is too, cut the frame weight in half and goes like a rocket.
However I really wanted a Columbus Tusk which is straight legged but they don't do it in a one inch ffs!
