On the news this morning Aunty said it meant cars turning left would have to give way to bikes riding up the inside. It does not seem sensible to effectively promote riding up the inside of traffic generally, let alone a junctions.
However, I don't ride in London so not sure if the situation would be different for city riders. -

Check out the Condor Strada finishing kit. In the black friday sale they were dead cheap and look really tidy. I've just added the stem to my titanium winter bike and it looks great. Even at non-black-friday prices they are good value when compared to Deda etc.
good luck with the build, imho there's nothing as satisfying as building your own transport... -

They are not the lightest. But I got them as a bullet proof winter wheel and at around £200 they were a good price for a branded wheel.
No problems with crosswinds, as you say the profile is not that deep.
I run a 25mm tyres and they fit well but as with all Fulcrums they are a tight fit in the first instance.
They are coming into their second winter and I've done nothing to them over the summer and they are sweet.
There is a CX version with double bearing covers if you are worried at all about water ingress but I've seen none on mine.
Just to say a short valve is just not long enough to be able to fit a pump on even though it is visible. Lesson learned while on a very cold and wet ride.
I also put a little tape around the valve to stop it rattling against the rim. -
Just to add the the Fulcrum/Campag piece on second hand availability...
I run Fulcrum Racing Quattro (the £200 set not the full carbon jobbies) when it's completely nasty - These won't be going onto the second hand market. I'm gonna run them into the ground and no-one will want a wheelset as shredded as these will be.
I also have the Fulcrum Racing 3 two way fit. I run these for when the weather is not biblical in tubeless mode. It is highly unlikely these will go onto the second hand market, they are great and I'll run these 'till they drop too.
My Fulcrum Racing zero I run tubeless, these are lovely too and see me around on sunny days or those big events. These may appear on the second hand market as I try to shave 10g off my bike weight ready for the next 'once in a lifetime event'.
So on this basis I'll keep my cheap wheels forever but chop and change my Sunday best wheels so they always look Sunday best. -

I think what I have is a 1953 Rotrax Shirley.
There are a couple of anomalies currently. The Simplex rear mech seems to be from the 80's and the Weinman brakes seem too new as well.
I've sent the frame number off to Rotrax in Southampton and hope to get confirmation soon as to the year and model.
It has been resprayed. I suspect the original colour is a metallic green judging by flaking areas of the respray.
Plans -
respray - red with white head tube and part of the seat tube.
Retain - Brooks b17. Great condition but needs new rivets. Bars, stem, seat post, cranks, gears, brakes and levers.
Replace - chain, cables and wheels.
I hope to get leather 'sew on' bar tape. -

I have this for sale, not central London (based south coast) and it is currently being cleaned before re-assembly. I have Shimano lever brakes on the drop bars along with the original straight bars and brake levers too. Flip flop rear wheel and assorted chainrings/freewheel/cogs to adjust the gearing.
The size is within your limits (156cm top tube).Looking for £175.
I use a bike hut chain tool 10 speed and it worked fine on Shimano chains.
Nice looking...
