TS no longer needs so @glws it's yours if you want it. PM to arrange a meet up if so

FYI: I was recently donated a functional camera I'm happy with so we no longer need this. Original dibs order / price the same. Sincere apologies for the messing around
Note; I've managed to lose the case, but have one of these I can swap in; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266444397616
@TotalShanner 1st as long as he's happy with condition posted (would prefer buyer inspect but hey...)
@Glws 2nd -
Freehub; ideally a trade for my campy freehub (very good condition). Doesn't have to be of equal condition.
Wheelset; ideally exchange for my vision t30s (10speed) but would be interested in buying outright as I doubt there's much interest in swapping from 11s down to 10
8000/6800 RD; buy/ part exchange for my DA9000
HG700/800 cassette
11-10sp Cassette spacer; on the offchance anyone close by has one going
Kingston based but happy to travel

I'd forgotten the RD was actually a short cage DA9000, though not in spectacular condition. I'll aim to sell that (as I don't think the build can cope with such bling) and buy a longer cage 105/ultegra with hopefully some spare change towards the cassette. Or just swap the wheels.
Oh and when I switched my attention to the C50 I realised the freehub is actually 11s not the 10 I expected, so that bike is also on hold. Needs a spacer/similar. Will probably see if anyone wants to swap the campy freehub for a Shimano whilst I'm awaiting other parts.
I'm almost seeing the humour in having the 11speed hub on the wheels I intended for 10s and vice versa... almost

First error today was that the t30s aren't 11speed? I think only 10. Shit. As the shifters/derailleurs are 6800 11speed. So I guess dreams of getting it done this weekend are over.
The freehub is 2-3mm shorter than another 11 speed I have lying around. Will have to Google if I can get around this in the long run or whether I'll have to switch wheels.

So I have no bike building experience, am a severe hoarder of mismatched bargains and can never decide on what I actually want from a bike.
Hopefully this thread will help motivate me to actually finish the builds and provide some others with a laugh at how inept I am.
Full candour; they won't be perfectly pretty, or matching builds as everything is basically sourced off here second hand within budget limitations... and I will 100% feel ashamed compared to the threads in this section....
The first 2 up were almost entirely forum sourced.
Lovely C50 - thanks to @Hobo
Dawes Galaxy - a diamond in the very generous @Ndeipi 's rough garden?I've apparently mislaid photos of just the frames so here's a stock image of the C50 and the goods I ended up schlepping back from Ndeipi's

Sounds like a man of my tastes. I love a good overuse injury (or rather my body just detests running no matter how much rehab I seem to do).
I agree I think there's no way I could do it with a young family without cutting hours and sleep significantly (which would just increase my injury chances).
I'll just do 2 casual runs and swims until November and re-evaluate.
My only real aim is not to get injured. Easier said than done as the previous injury flared after only 4km on a social run on Monday. I'll just take it slow and build 1km every few weeks...
Edit; and continue the neverending rehab cycle

@Ndeipi - gave me loads of advice on an eBay buy a while back, then ended up buying a load of kit off him this weekend.
He even threw in a beater frame to do up. Best of luck with the move!

Ended up just being the BB... so I'm creakless thank god. I got talked into sticking a standard Cannondale one in like a mug but when the bearings go I'll put the wheels back in properly.
I'm absolutely loving the retro builds and bargains everyone's been linking.
On the off chance anyone has any rim brake XL (min 58, 60+realistically) caad frames or similar that'll take guards and 25+ tyres for sale to build up as a commuter I'd be keen...
-
Yup. No word from @Ollie85

Yeah... I don't intend to try and imitate that. I prioritise my recovery and general happiness more haha. Minimum 7-8 hours a night... until there are more than 2 of us...
I'm quite tempted by the only pushing for the last 3 months or so / just training 10h like last year but not getting injured. Fits well with my schedule and as long as I train the run all the way through without getting injured that's 90% of the gains.
Maybe 1 long ride a week, 1-2 "long" runs (as long as I can manage within rehab), 1 short speed work runs and then 2 swims.
Rest of the riding will just be commuting 20-30mins each way 3-5 days a week with a few intervals thrown in every now and then.
I guess I can see if my motivation will allow the above or not. Without an event to train for its debatable though

That bike is brilliant(ly awful). I both love and hate it.
No idea about the watches sorry. I use a Garmin 935 which seem to be going for nothing second hand at the moment. I wouldn't advise it without a chest strap though as its not very accurate on the wrist.
I'm in a weird limbo as I decide whether to move forwards / sack off long course for good.
I made my A goal despite being injured and not really running beforehand, so if I was to carry on I'd really want to aim for significant improvement in the run (like a sub 10-10.5h on a flat course). I'm certain if I can get running fit I can easily cut off well over an hour on the run. I felt fresh off the bike and didn't min-max the aero in the end (socks, helmet etc) so could almost certainly find easy gains there. Swim I just need a better fitting wetsuit and some technique work.
But (a big one at that) I'm just plain unable + unwilling to put in as much time / though / prep as I did last year... I was my overriding goal to the detriment of life. And also I wont be able to prioritise a minimum 8.5-9h sleep a night I was getting.
How do you guys fit the long course training in around life? Does it ever get easier?

Hey all, does anyone have any experience with the 2017-18 disc supersixes? I'm getting a monstrous BB creak (+some play I believe) and not sure how to fix it. It's even worse since I pressed in replacement bearings yesterday as the old ones were knackered.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/uLgxFvPKSMtHNiw36
Firstly does anyone have any idea what BB this is... I think it might be a wheels - it seems to be threaded so I'm guessing it isn't the original (FYI its been rubbed when I tried to use a FSA converter which did NOT go well - should be all black metal).
Unfortunately I can't remove it as I dont have a BB tool that large (48.5mm). I suppose it also could be loose after pressing yesterday
Options;
- buy a tool, remove and replace with same BB + loctite/similar given I know the bearings are OK (+eventually have to buy a new power meter)
- replace the BB with a new ?PF/BB30a (not sure which it is). Run the risk of it happening again (+eventually have to buy a new power meter)
- replace the BB and switch to Hollowtech with my power meter + old crankset
- pay someone to do one of the above just for piece of mind.
Any advice welcome!

Hey, I'm 195cm so it's fine height wise for you. The generic stack is quite high on it, but the forks have been cut as you guessed, so it just depends how much drop saddle-bars you would normally run. It's actually a fine height for me now, but I've already replaced it.
Welcome to keep the riser bars on it too if need be as that gives an extra 1.5cm

Bump. Bitex freehub is the main priority but I understand it's a longshot.
Thanks for replies, I'll PM now
