A small addition to the bike, one of the delightful kids (BatFace) and her fella bought me a lovely hand made cycle bell for my Christmas pressie, solid brass dome, lovely loud ring to it, stainless steel fittings...nice..

I think I spotted and had a brief chat with a possible 'on-here' person this afternoon whilst riding up through Peckham. Fixed Langster, nice baby blue colour (the bike, not the rider) with super-cool-tweaky Revolight things on the front and rear rims (the bike, not the rider). Ta for the info Mr.

A very chilly 42.5 mile loop over SE London today, 'nippy-around-the'nads' I'd describe it as. I wanted to investigate the Waterlink Way route that goes from the Cutty Sark down through Catford to Elmers End and beyond, managed to go way past desired stopping point and had to rely on the Garmin to get be back home as I didn't know where I was, ooops!

I've been getting over a heavy cold/New-Job-Fever for the last couple of weeks but this weekend I made the most of the lovely weather yesterday, I did a big 'un on the single speeder. It was ace, London was surprisingly quite and there was no breeze too, perfik conditions.
57 miles on the SS'er. Totally enjoyed it.

About 2 years ago I gave it away, 'they' gave it back so I'm using for my daily 0.9 mile each way commute now, everything is either roadside finds, skip saved or donated except the brake blocks (MDCC tester approved last week) and tyres. Its bluddy awful, but its mine. All mine.

Please Sir(s), my commuter bike which is made entirely out of skip saved rubbish/2nd hand tatt/roadside "finds" has an ace feature whereupon when you apply the brakes on these moist mornings nothing seems to happen apart from a zizzzzzzzzzzzzz sound being produced. I beleive the bike actually goes faster with the brakes on.....
Any recommendations for brake blocks to suit these 1970s chromed rims which might enable me to slow down a bit at least?
