Shimano MW7 are decent. Overshoes are so bad in comparison to winter boots. If you ride in the winter they are a great investment.

If you can find a Felt VR, they are ace. 35mm fits easily. 32mm with guards. Doesn't have mounts for racks though if that's a thing you need.

Love 'em. Absolutely zero issues on the 28mm pair I used for loads of audaxes including PBP. Stayed strong for about 8 months after that as well. I think the rubber started looking rather worn before they actually had any punctures.

Dying to take my 12 month daughter on my bike. What are my options? I have a(n alloy) disc brake road bike with mounts for racks etc which I could utilise; I live on the Isle of Wight near very quiet country roads, but limited access to cycle paths. It's a bit hilly but I'd only be taking her a short way to places I guess. Ideally I'd like to buy some sort of cargo bike to haul her around in but that's gonna be a way off. Whatever I end up with I'd like to be able to take her to nursery in it. I do have a pizza rack and Restrap rando bag on this bike at the moment which does make it feel a bit sketchy, I wonder if I'll need to remove this before carrying her anywhere...

Oh, my partner also rides, but doesn't have a bike with any mounts. Which is why I'm perhaps thinking about a trailer which we could both use, but is that a wise idea given the lack of local dedicated segregated cycle paths / abundance of hills?

Aye, and it's advised to pre-qualify by riding a long BRM this season - the longer ride you do, the sooner you can sign up. Can't remember if that's the point at which you pick your start time or not, it's all such a blur now. And then next season it's the qualifying rides.

I did this in 2019 as PBP prep. Rode there straight from work, and then home again to SE London afterwards which seems ridiculous to me now. Anyway. One of the best rides I've ever done. Loved it.

Four seasons have gone.

Number three: front Mavic Aksium with lovely but very worn Lifeline tyre (and I suppose some sort of inner tube), again the rim is worn. I'll probably remove the QR skewer before giving away, sorry. Free.

Number two: Hunt four season aero rim brake wheelset. Rims are worn, rear hub needs attention. Free.

I also got a Clever Dripper recently having used a V60 every day for years, and you're right, it's better. Sort of unbelievable. I'm doing water first / 18g, 300ml, 2 mins and get lovely delicious results every time.
