You can get Contact Urbans in that size. E-bike rating means they are rated at 135 kg/tyre as well. I think @Black_Rainbow_Project has had them setup ghetto tubeless?

I agree with you about longevity - and part of the reason I'm moving away from Birks is that I haven't found a local repair option.

I like the look of the Mountain Clogs as well, but price and availability (along with questionable repairability on a mainland Europe) has kept me off them. But I am quite keen on an airy closed toe-box option, as I've had some wet, brambly and nettly rides in Birks this year.

Indeed not! Currently on all four of the bikes that I have built up and running.
My only wish is for to add the 2.5" width to the 26" lineup - would be awesome for the dadbike and the tandem.

There are eccentric bottom brackets as well, thought for a regular BSA crankbox you still might need a halflink for the chain

Sounds like you could be in the market for Mols or Lolland. IME they fit true to european size, but take some breaking in.

Do you have any recommendations for brake pads for the BB7s?
I've run the regular (sintered?) Avid pads for a long time, but keen to try something with a bit more bite and maybe a 180mm rotor up front.

I second @Thrasher - they are rated for between 90 kg and 132 kg per tyre in 26" and 28" sizes.
I use them on our Bullitt cargo bike with great results. I'm getting some for our tandem next.

We have a Siemens one, and it's quite good at getting the spray, if you run it a full speed, which does get noisy. I think you'd have the spray on the stovetop with a roof/wall mounted one as well.
A chap at work as made a stainless steel box to go on top, with smaller slat near pot top level and is very pleased with the added efficiency.

It's just a matter of proper workholding I reckon.
And maybe using a plunge cut endmill in the drill press

Hope it acts as an airbag once you're blown off the side of a mountain.

Based on my own experience they do come up a little on the small side, but only by a couple of mm - and that is across 19, 21 and 25 mm internal rims.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record - Continental Contact Urban. Go for 26x1.75 instead of 26x2.0 if you're worried about clearance.

Plan to service/keep the seatpost? If not you could file off the offending mm and fit the 31.8 stem anyway.

Do you have access to a sturdy, and sturdily mounted bench wice?
I've seen posts removed by clamping the post in the vice and using the frame for leverage to twist it free.
