We’ve got these, with some USB sockets for key areas
They’re plastic-faced but not plasticy looking, very slim profile and as mentioned above the faceplate clips on to what’s behind. Personally, I’ve found 1-2 sockets tend to part pull away from the hidden fixing panel when removing plugs, and I think if/when we do it again I’d try to find a white finish metal face plate with 2 minimal screws to best avoid the above and give an even slimmer buildup from the wall finish.
We’ve got matching switches as well using Varilight’s PowerGrid faceplates – was a minefield trying to figure all of that out!

No border definitely looks better, although you will want the floor, walls and ceiling to all be level/plumb, and a shadowgap surround to act as your scribe panel.
Are the wardrobes stock items with custom doors or all bespoke made? If the latter then clearly 625mm doors (or whatever the width/5) is the correct answer, and this really shouldn't be more spenny. If using stock items then there would be an uplift.
Maybe a modelling error, but having all the wood grain running in the same direction will look more considered (top units currently showing horizontal grain). Absolute baller move is to cut the sheets so the grain is continuous through these, and if bespoke made this should be relatively straight forward and with no additional uplift.
I assume the ceiling height is greater than 2440mm?

Saw this, got very excited about what it could be. Much disappoint to find out asking is £3.5m. Casual. Should have remembered the adage about needing to ask the price meaning you can't afford it.
Clearly priced to be floored and rebuilt as something much larger and carved up.

we all just become fatigued by it all
I've been thinking about this, and if this moment in time is particularly worse than other pressured points in history, or whether it is heightened with continued rolling news and social medias (including here!).
The news and lurching disasters is all-encompassing and is draining!

VAT for construction is hugely variable which is why costs are presented ex-VAT. Your design team should have been able to tell you what VAT applied to you and ultimately worked to that although the whole designing to a brief vs designing to a budget is a common issue.
No disputing that your circumstance is bad form and I would have been miffed in that situation! Did you budget work up in the end, or did the design work down?

The Guardian reporting that Hunt is behind it, with speculation that Rishi-backing Grant Shapps will take the position.
Truss is essentially in a Birtney Spears style conservatorship being unable to make any decisions or step aside for fear of GE wipeout whilst being wheeled out for minimal airtime. At what point does the car crash joke tip over to us worrying for her safety? Was her insistent blinking on Newsnight a message?

It's a weird play. A vote of loyalty in many respects from a toxic PM who people are desperate to distance themselves from. Really hoping it blows up in her face and @villa-ru has called it.

I haven't, but I will give that a go.
