Hyper-partisan sites re-purposing the same story for entirely different audiences. Interesting.

Perhaps a useful reminder to check yourself before you wreck yourself.

He should, but when you have a team of fawning accolytes around you constantly, you can presumably become quite detached. And when part of your pitch is that everyone else is plotting against you, and that no-one understands your principles, etc., then your separation/isolation becomes self-perpetuating.
Cameron and Osborne were clearly totally up their own backsides, and couldn't see outside their circle of sycophantic advisors. (Until, perhaps, the moment of national pride when 80,000 people booed Osborne at the Olympics)
Trump probably wouldn't have much of a clue how much he is disliked (given his circle of flatterers) if it wasn't for the fact he watches cable news all the time.

The fact that the term PLP has entered common parlance indicates how the Labour party is doomed to eternal factionalism. I didn't really know what the PLP was before Corbyn came along. The way that Corbyn has happily positioned himself as separate/different to his MPs who were voted in by the public perfectly illustrates his lack of interest in the views of the electorate. His leadership could not be more futile.

There's a fair chance he may go fully 'radio rental' some time soon

It sounds like Boonen's alright. He only abandoned because it took too long to get his bike sorted.
"La deuxième fois par contre je ne suis pas tombé, mais c'est venu par derrière et le vélo a souffert et ma roue arrière était abimée, mon dérailleur aussi. J'ai dû attendre longtemps avant d'avoir un nouveau vélo et je savais dès lors qu'il serait impossible de rejoindre l'avant de la course. J'ai juste essayé un peu pour voir si tout allait bien"

Over the last few months I've read quite a lot of the US media (and more than I ever have before). I've been really impressed by the quality of the journalism in both the Washington Post and the New York Times. I would consider taking out a subscription if it weren't for the fact that I already have too many others to read. I'm not sure we have much comparable this side of the pond.

Looks like he deleted his tweet.
The (many) comments below are people puzzling over:
- the confused historical analogy (with 'Waterloo' usually describing a dramatic defeat)
- if he means a resounding victory then Labour actually lost some of their share of the vote
And other similar facepalm comments at the blind naivety/delusion
- the confused historical analogy (with 'Waterloo' usually describing a dramatic defeat)

I don't know much about Momentum but this comment sums it up for me.

More Labour stuff. This time a fun picture on options for a new leader.

I don't think he's done anything too bad for a couple of days now. He might just be catching up on cable news but he could be up to something. My guess would be that he's creating some kind of Trump theme park packed full of his supporters so he can exist in a state of perpetual worship while pretending the rest of the world doesn't exist (i.e. expanding the aircraft hangar idea that he presumably used to keep protestors away from his recent 'campaign' rally).

Quite funny

This is also, I suppose, why Paul Nuttall wears tweed, even though it makes him look like a skinhead Rupert Bear.
