You just have to keep the vertical growth down, generally people don't cut enough off for the reason who've mentioned, I try keeping the vertical growth down to 1 or 2 buds , I'm sure there'll be someone on site that's eager to help you, also you can try different methods on different layers and see which works best

It will grow back but as you have moss, you've most likely got drainage issues so make lots of holes with a fork and add sand, if you want to add some more seed mix this with the sand and brush into the area, I would also do this every Sept, you can buy a tool that makes the holes I've used both and a fork works just as good.

Maximum fruit can sometimes depend on which variety you have, for pruning you need to pinch out the stem which grows between the main stem and branch usually this grows at about 45 degrees, it grows much faster than the rest of the plant, I also cut the top of the plant when its got 3-4 trusses so any energy goes to the existing fruit, Like all fruiting plants the more stressed they are the more flowers they produce which in turn produces more fruit, they think their dying and in order to combat this they try to reproduce, many commercial growers do this to fruit trees by not planting them so deep which stresses the plants hence more fruit to sell, of course we humans try and find a balance,

Hope yr healing up, not sure on the current law but 20 years ago while driving a motorbike this was a common argument by opposing insurance companies to try and pay out less especially against motorcyclist claiming a 50% blame, but in this case I think the cops are fools and someone turning right has to admit they either saw you and misjudged or they didn't see you which either way leaves them at fault, your position didn't change until contact was made, I would never contact the driver as this can be used against you if they have a smart solicitor, get legal advice and pursue, good luck and don't give up , cheers k
