I can't see why this won't work, are your 105's 9 speed, the front(left) shifters won't be a problem 3=3=3 but if the sti are 10 speed you will have an extra click for the rear? (I assume), also don't be in a hurry to dismiss the sora they may not be shimano's top end but in my experience they've always worked brillantly.
