Thank you. The bike has some nice details, like fully enclosed top tube brake routing, the seat cluster and hearts cut out in top tube and down tube lugs.

Well today I have installed the brake calipers. Also cut steerer down and added new bearings and Teflon grease in headset. Installed adapter and stem. Just need to chase and face BB then can move forward with the build. But there is no rush in this one. (Pics to follow)

Picked this up last week from a collector of all things Italian that I know.

From what I’ve found out online (not much) these bike are not very common and only built for a short while. Unfortunately the decals had mostly rubbed off when I got it and there is a few scratches in the paint, luckily no dents or dings.

Since I picked it up it’s been stripped of it tierd and worn 1055 Groupset, touched up many scratches in paint, removed remains of old decals and polished and waxed the whole thing including the chrome chain stay and fork crown.

The plan is to build it up with all the bits off my current Specialized secteur comp.

So spec will be.

Shimano 5700 Brifters, FD, RD
Tange levin NJS headset
Deda quill adapter modified to fit lower
Oval concepts wheelset
New Schwalbe Durano 25c x2

Specialized toupe gel saddle
New cables all round

All I need to source is new seat post as current one has been scored badly and I can’t trust it and down tube cable stops which I should have next week. Eventely new decals from H lloyd will be added.

Yeah think I might just buy new. I’ve used my works gauge to measure the current one and that shows 27.0 but it’s a bit old so I’ll take a new measurement with my gauges and see what it shows back. I did read it was 26.8 online also to be fair.

I wanted one in similar design to the one posted and I can’t find one in 27.0. The work would only cost me a beer as A customer of mine runs a metal spinning company. But I think I might just buy a diffrent one in the correct size and save the potential risk.

Frame is 90s Columbus Aelle.

I’m not sure on weight limit of post but I weigh 91kg and it will be half way in the frame

Does any one know if I have one of these milled down from 27.2 to 27.0 will i still have my backside in one piece or is it dangerous?
