i'm on a 56cm Parallax and i'm 6' tall (BB centre to saddle top 785mm). to get my saddle nose to bar of 545mm i had to go with a 120mm stem.

it's a good fit, but visually i'd prefer a slightly shorter stem.

i'm sure i could get away with the 58cm frame quite happily.

i love the bike BTW - it was a toss up between the parallax or a vigorelli, in the end the optical paint job decided it for me.

EDIT - good deal this BTW. i paid just shy of 600 new.

maybe i spoke too soon. will England somehow contrive to win a third ODI on the trot today? i can't remember the last time that happened.

to be honest i'd pretty much given up on the white ball game but i'm quite excited again now.

so now i'm thinking this through. it's a developable/ruled surface.

WARNING - very geeky very quickly...

if i wanted to create a Mobius strip, i'd run a straight line round a circle and rotate it by pi in one revolution. the start and end would match up.

you could do the same for a bike track. sweep your 7.1 metre line from the start/finish line to the pursuit line only (half a track) and rotate up to 42 degrees max, and then back down again to your starting angle. to get the track steepness you want, where you want, you make the swept line rotation non-linear. the bend exits can be made slightly steeper than the entries with some probably quite ugly functions.

i think at Manchester the exit from the bends is steeper than the entry, making the shape symmetrical "diagonally". am i right?

on second thoughts, i guess i could put a couple of blobs of weld inside that freehub - cheap :)
