I was given a copy of China Miéville's The City and The City at christmas and it's finally made it to the top of the To Read pile.
About halfway through and I'm really enjoying it. First of his books i've read and i think i was expecting something quite different. Nicely understated, the central premise isn't dealt with too heavy handedly, and it kind of feeds the mystery of the story to you in a nicely measured way - not too flashily. I'm awful at review-lets, sorry.

Bristol (fishponds to be precise), but I'm down that way quite a bit. Go to charmouth and surrounding area regularly. I've been in the honiton BTP, but will be checking out the Coffee number one when it opens.
Have you been to 'amongst Giants and idols' in Lyme? Pretty good coffee and they roast their own.

I basically bought a load of different grommets in the hope that some might be a good fit for an internal cable run on my bike. These were never going to fit to be honest.
You can have them free collected in Bristol or for the cost of postage (call it a quid?) because I may as well send to someone who needs them rather than send back to chainreaction for an embarrassingly small refund.

The German versions are about 26% more teutonic.
I do know a guy who only listens to 'foreign' music and will feign ignorance of fairly well known bands if they're english or american. For all i know it's not an act, but it's obviously definitely all an act and i enjoy letting myself get wound right up about it.

It kind of annoys me when english people pronounce Kraftwerk with the hard german W - 'kraftverk', even though that's the correct pronunciation. It just feels a bit they're just about to tell you how they only really like their earlier stuff when they were proper krautrock, before they went all electronic.

I'm currently tweaking my wife's Dawes Civic runaround to make it look a little swankier (it's practically NOS and has so far responded well to a leather saddle and fewer shit reflectors).
I'd like to replace the wobbly weinmann brake levers with something a little nicer:
Any recommendations on an all-silver coloured flat bar brake lever that's simultaneously cheap and not crap?
Was thinking tektro fl750s but I'm struggling to find them in all silver. -
