Got some LPs going up in classified, for those who are interested. A smattering of hip-hop, funky lounge, bolly-disco, euro funk rock, the usual.

Yeah Omega Man at least retains the social commentary they opted to totally remove from will smiths.

I did watch world war z - it bears very little resemblance to the book. I thought the book could have worked well as a serialised show maybe, in the same way there chapters work in the book, but with the meta narrative holding it all together.

That terrible will smith vehicle film of I am Legend probably has put a lot of people of reading what is a fantastic book. I love Richard matheson's cantankerous, broken lead characters. They totally missed the point with that film - completely and utterly.

I'd seek out the later BBC version of DotT - bleak and atmospheric. You can really tell Danny Boyle drew a lot of inspiration from it for 28 days later.

Quiet, every day sci fi is right up my street. Ever since I ploughed through wyndhams books as a nipper in fact.

Ah, flat earth. That's a classic one, isn't it? I love all the photographic 'evidence' they trot out. Stuff like 'this photograph clearly shows the horizon as a straight line whereas if the earth was a sphere it would be curved'. well, lens distortion, and also wouldn't the horizon be a much more exaggerated curve if the earth was a disc? But hey, I'm no expert.

I read the beach in one sitting. I think my memory of it is tainted by the film but it's a pretty well paced and gripping book!

Missed seeing this on a big screen on Tuesday unfortunately. Would recommend!
