cheers all!
@inchpincher I used emulsion so I could just go and get colour-matched pots. It was just too thin though. Next time I'll use acrylic.
@Oliver Schick the stilts are there, man, you just can't see them. They're always there...

I dun a mural in the entrance hall of the primary school my kids go to. It was a lot of fun to do. Been over 10 years since I’ve done a mural, and I definitely had a bit of a re-learning curve to tackle. Not least of all to use better paint next time - I ended up having to paint everything about 3 times just to cover, which is a pain with my style as I do a lot of cutting back in.
Impossible to get a decent photo, too, as it’s in a slightly gloomy hallway with a big pillar in front of it.

Ha, thats interesting. It's something my wife and I had chatted about occasionally over the last couple of years, but never seriously considered. We watched a couple of documentaries recently that sort of horrified us - stuff we knew in theory, but seeing it laid out in detail hit it home. Been vegetarian for a few weeks now and I'm not really missing meat at all so far.
This book kind of galvanised my decision. My wife decided against reading it after my description :-D

… a valuable lesson about prep work. Did a very un-thorough job of rubbing down the existing paintwork, then whacked a couple of coats of the dark green on. It basically just peeled off again - you could run a fingernail across it and it would scrape off back to the white. Now I’m sanding it all off again and properly giving it some tooth before I do it all again. Serves me right for rushing a job!

I’ve got a pair of these aluminium dinked 45 adaptors going spare. I ended up springing for some fancy Waxrax adaptors and havn’t used these. They’re something like a £7 each from Jazzman so how about a tenner posted for the pair?
