Far too big for me, otherwise this would be my pub bike. I think this is from 1984 or thereabouts. Not sure on the exact model, but I think it was mid/upper mid range? The frame sticker says Vitus 181, which i gather was vitus 981 for the 3 main tubes.
Conditions is structurally sound, with OK paintwork. Has chips, some touching up and a few bits of surface rust here and there - nothing major. The usual.
Frame is 58cm square, centre to centre, was made to take 700c wheels, has roughly 120mm rear spacing (sorry, can measure if necessary), takes a 26.4mm seatpost, and a 22.0mm stem.
I can chuck in a beater seatpost and/or stem if needed.I'm bristol and would prefer local exchange, but would post out if asked nicely.
I'm asking £70, but pipe up if that's way off.

Good comms, postage and item from @Madring who also kept it gentlemanly when sale thread got a bit nit-picky (myself included).

I might inflict some photos on this thread when I finish the roll in my Contaflex. I only use black and white in it as I've struggled getting good results with colour film in it. I get really nice contrast in B/W but it seems like a totally different camera in colour. What am I missing here? Any recommendations for film with a bit more punch?

Still built up (my current run-around) but sale is for Frame, forks, headset and BB.
80s (84?) Gitane frame made from light Super Vitus EL 980. 50.5cm seat tube c-c. 52cm top tube.
Selling with Sugino BB and Omas headset, both recently serviced.Paint isn't perfect, with a few chips and so-on, but generally in good nick. However, I have put a ding in the top tube since owning it. It's pretty small and have tried to photograph it as clearly as possible. It's also missing decals on the downtube. I've drilled the rear hole of the fork wider so it accepts a modern recessed calliper bolt.
If any interest, i can post up more pics.
I'm in Bristol - would prefer pick-up but could be persuaded to post.

I've finally admitted to myself that the frame I'm currently riding fixed is too small (50cm). It's an 80s Gitane with light tubing and I basically just want the same frame but bigger! 52-54 should do it.
As I already have the relevant parts, I'd ideally be after a French frame. Something in 531 or equivalent, with tight enough clearance that I don't need long drop brakes.
Budget is around 100 quid. Don't mind something than needs a respray if cheaper and equally I don't mind paying more for something nicer.
Would also be happy to trade if you have the opposite problem to me!
