I don't understand why we aren't a bit more willing to ban people from driving properly. Driving while on a mobile phone? Can't be anything other than your fault/choice to do so = year ban or more if repeat offence. Purposefully cause someone harm using your car? Psychopath = no liscence for you.

I've actually just had similar issue fitting mine. When i first put mine on, it was sloping down to the front - as you say, it has no sliding fork crown tab (or whatever you call it) so it's not adjustable. I ended up just bending the tab with brute force until it was more or less right. You can see where I didn't do the neatest job!

My straggler front forks have eyelets at the front of the dropouts so i could bolt the stays straight on, but i did buy some 6mm spacers just in case (m5 x 6mm spacers off eBay). I imagine that's what you'd need in order to make the stays clear the fork tubing. I ended up using one of them where it attaches to the fork crown as otherwise it didn't clear the headset.

Yeah that's what i mean, i think - basically how much seatpost it needs, from collar to saddle.
I have about 16cm from saddle rails to where the seat stays start. Actually it looks like it'd be fine - especially as there's no brake calliper there for it to potentially interfere with.

I think I worded it in a weird way! I was talking about the Blackburn - not seen one in the flesh but it looks like it has a holster section, and then a dry bag that slots into it?

Have you used it on a frame with a straight top tube by any chance? I've only seen photos of it put on MTBs and bikes with low top tubes/tall seat posts. Just wondering how it would fit on my straggler.

That does seem like a bit of a bargain. I suppose what you're getting over that one from the blackburn is the ability to remove the storage part, to make it easier to pack (any differences in quality aside).

How much was it, plus postage? I'm umm-ing and ahh-ing over this or the blackburn one, which you can get for about £50 from Tredz, with strategic use of discount codes.

That image did something funny to my eyes. The first time i looked at it, it appeared quite 'unresolved', but then it kind of came in to focus. now When i look at it, I can see the car clearly and can't re-create the blurred appearance I saw when i first looked at it. I thought it was a GIF at first!

Actually that's a good point about not needing 50t. I have 40t up front and a 11-32 in the rear. Knowing nothing about riding on anything other than road, does that sound like a useful gearing for razzing around the woods?

Yeah it's the comp version on wiggle I was looking at. I'm currently running it 1x9 so won't have any issues with front mech.

@giofox88 - I saw upstream that you had nanos on your straggler. Were they the 700x41 variety?
I want to put some big, grippy tyres on mine to follow a MTB friend round some trails and they seem like they fall within my limited budget, but wasn't 100% sure they'd fit.

I only find those tin mugs irritating when I actually try and use one, for reasons previously stated. Which is why it stays permanently carabinered to my bike.

The ones i'm sending you are the type Scilly.suffolk is on about - you won't be able to put a dust cap on them. unless i have some of the other type lying around, which i might!
